Makeup that uses "science" to solve your skin problems

That's a change, because most brands use some amount of color or pigment to hide imperfections. Others use chemicals that, once applied, change the natural flush of your skin. And brands like Smashbox, Botanics and Illamasqua are getting in on it. But does it work?

Makeup artist Julia Biddlecombe had this to say: "I was sceptical that a few tubes of colorless creams and gels could give me a 'made up' face but the final result was impressive. Without using any traditional foundation, blusher, eyeshadow, concealer or mascara, my complexion looked surprisingly even-toned and glowing, and the overall appearance was very polished," she said. "Several people told me how amazing I looked - and the effects lasted until bedtime. I could quite easily use the Instant Blur, O-Glow and Eyelid Primer every day - though nothing will persuade me to go without mascara."
