When models want to get runway-ready bodies, they turn to ModelFit. This boutique fitness studio boasts innovative workouts and a holistic approach to wellness and self-care. Ahead, learn more about the studio, what the workouts are like, who the trainers are and what results to expect.
About Model Fit
The studio was cofounded by Vanessa Packer, who also founded the health and wellness site Bonberi. Famous faces like Karlie Kloss have posted pictures of themselves sweating it out in the studio's flagship Noho location, which is designed to look, in Vanessa Packer's words, like a "chic apartment that you just happen to be working out in." The light, airy space is filled with fresh flowers, and there are big, open windows. There is also a location in LA, which opened in December 2016. Membership is $425 a month at both the New York and LA locations, but there are also a la carte sessions. Intro classes are $25 each.
What the Workouts Are Like
Rather than high-intensity interval training workouts that have become the holy grail of fitness, Model Fit workouts take a slower approach, even in their cardio classes, which focus on tiny micromovements through a series of leg raises, crunches and arm lifts. Sculpt classes use bands, light weights and sliding disks to tone the body and improve balance and posture through resistance training. It's this emphasis on form rather than speed that delivers results and keeps celebrities like Taylor Swift coming back for more.

Who the Trainers Are
Model Fit trainers are some of the best in the business. In New York, Javi Perez, a former gymnast and backup dancer for artists like Pitbull and Julianne Hough, leads his classes through a mix of Pilates, yoga moves and dance cardio. Sam Garcia, a former dancer, seeks to connect with her classes both personally and through movement. In LA, Sarah Louise, a former model and professional dancer for clients like Burberry, brings her dance background to create a fun and supportive environment. Triana Cristobal, a graduate of The Kirov Academy of Ballet, combines a love of music and passion for movement into her classes. All instructors are Gray Institute certified, which means they are certified in Applied Functional Science.
What Results to Expect
Many people have come into a Model Fit class skeptical of the process as the classes seem lightweight at first glance. When the New York studio opened, Natalie Matthews at Elle wrote that she doubted these micromovements would really make a difference until she was sore the next day. Because every class is different, it's impossible to get bored, but it is possible to get real results, fast. Margaret Abrams of The Observer went to the studio four to five times a week for one month and lost 15 pounds.
