FLAWLESS SPRING LOOKS YOU'LL LOVE

Master makeup, hair and fashion trends straight from the runway

The backstage experts at Mara Hoffman, Missoni and Céline put the "artist" in "makeup artist" by getting creative with eyeliner. Play up the standard cat-eye by extending the length of the line, using an attention-grabbing shade like lavender, creating a winged shape on the inner corners of the eyes (in addition to the outer corners) or applying liner in a different color, like bright yellow or electric blue, to your lower lash line.

Tired of your moto jacket? The boxy, cropped jackets seen at the runway shows of Rebecca Minkoff and Thakoon are the perfect transitional outerwear item to take your wardrobe from winter to spring. The cropped silhouette adds some girlishness and balances out the boxy silhouette; choose one in a fun print for a look that you can take from the office to happy hour.

Consider it a blessing from the fashion gods above: Sky-high heels are out and functional, walkable sneakers are officially in. The fashion set's kicks are a little more fashionable than your everyday tennis shoes: Tommy Hilfiger opted for colorful wedge high-tops, ICB showed pristine white flatforms, and models at Kenzo and Chanel walked the runway in embroidered, patterned sneakers. Consider this your cue to wear lace-ups with every ensemble.

Follow the lead of the fresh-faced models at Isabel Marant, Balmain and Jean Paul Gaultier and strip down with a no-makeup makeup look. Apply the feather-light Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation onto clean skin for natural-looking coverage and a poreless, matte finish. Sweep a sheer, neutral blush on your cheeks and finish the look with one or two coats of brown mascara and your favorite lip balm.

Orange lips were everywhere in the spring presentations at New York Fashion Week: Rag & Bone, DKNY, Prabal Gurung ... the list goes on. Springtime means brightening your makeup shades, so instead of reaching for the usual pink and coral lipsticks, turn up your makeup wattage with bright, bold orange. Wear it matte, wear it glossy -- either way, you'll be making a statement and be completely on-trend.
