Certain shades of blue make my skin crawl. I find powder blue to be especially offensive, and teal blue is a close second. What can I say? Some reactions are visceral. (And my frightening, blue eye makeup-wearing third-grade teacher might have something to do with it.)
I first wanted bangs when I was 6 years old. It was the mid-80's, and my little sister had a blunt fringe that would have made Jane Birkin jealous. (She also had hair as thick and straight as heavy drapery.) I begged my mom for bangs, but she made it clear that with my round face and curly hair it would never happen. No way. Zero chance.
There was a time when a hangnail or dry cuticles would've gone unnoticed. Now, nail issues are front and center thanks to the ubiquitous nail art trend and the popularity of polish in general. I love any sort of multi-tasking product. I get excited about every new two-in-one lip and cheek stain. I applaud the infinite uses of salves. (Cuticles, split-ends, chapped lips, the list goes on.) Any beauty product that saves time and lightens my makeup bag is a keeper.
My obsession with makeup started when I was 14. I spent hours in the bathroom mirror creating what I thought were mini masterpieces. Big whoop, what teenage gal doesn't play with makeup, right?
