When it comes to skin care, the one question we as beauty editors get most often is, What is a serum? Followed by, do I need one? For a beauty product, face serums are strangely complicated: They're in between a moisturizer, an oil and an essence. You apply serums directly to the skin after cleansing, before your moisturizer, in order to deliver potent anti-aging ingredients into your skin. Many are formulated with hyaluronic acid or vitamin C, the same moisturizing and complexion-brightening ingredients we see in moisturizers and other skin-care products, but in stronger, more effective formulas that penetrate deeper into the skin.
Long hair with bangs: It's a decision every lady with down-to-there hair has pondered. Are you on the fence about getting bangs for long hair? Trust us, we understand the Hamlet-level back and forth that goes on in your brain when you're trying to decide whether or not to make the chop. Here's our stance: Bangs with long hair are actually pretty awesome. They're a great way to switch things up, whether it's by adding a sophisticated and mysterious swoop, a dash of '70s style in the form of some shaggy long hair bangs, or going really short à la "Amélie."

"It's a flattering way to accent your hair, since it looks so natural," explains Matrix Style Link Celebrity Stylist George Papanikolas.
Pop quiz: Are all of your beauty tools organized neatly in a makeup brush holder, or are they haphazardly stuffed in your bathroom drawers? That's what we thought. Makeup brushes sometimes get the short end of the stick. They've helped us navigate some pretty sticky situations over the years. And yet when it comes to organization, TBH, we can be a tad neglectful. Case in point: By the end of the week, our bathroom vanity (or kitchen table, because, lighting) is typically strewn with every type of makeup brush imaginable and with a downright pitiful eye for presentation, to boot.
It's that time of year when the days get shorter, the temperatures get cooler, and our wardrobe gets darker. And although the status quo preaches that we should trade in our blonde highlights for more maintainable hues of chestnut, chocolate and caramel, blonde hair colors like gold, honey and ice are having a moment.
