Your essential guide to keeping your skin healthy and happy this season

Bathe The Right Way
"Colder temperatures outdoors make that hot and relaxing bath even more inviting -- but not so fast!" warns Raj. Long baths and blistering hot showers strip the skin of its natural oils, causing it to dry out, crack and peel. "Hot water is one of the worst culprits that contributes to dry skin, so be sure to take warm showers instead of hot ones," she says.

Shorter showers can still feel luxe with the help of an alluring, skin-softening body wash. Try Caress Daily Silk Silkening Body Wash, which leaves skin feeling irresistibility soft. (Even better, it'll perfume your skin with its amazing mix of floral notes and hints of white peach and orange blossom.)

After your shower, gently pat your skin dry ("Don't rub too hard," Wu says). Just before skin is completely dry, apply your favorite face and body cream to lock in moisture.

Keep Skin Youthful With Retinoids
Retinoids can be drying, but you don't have to totally ditch them come the colder months. "Retinoids are among the most anti-aging and anti-sun damage topical products available," says West. Applying them before bed throughout the colder months helps your skin maintain its youthful summer glow.

To manage the dryness associated with retinoid use, West recommends applying a moisturizer over your retinoid. "And remember that every other night is all that you need," she says.

Hydrate Skin From the Inside Out
You can slather your face and body in layers of moisturizer, you should also hydrate from the inside out by guzzling good ol' H2O.

"You may not think about it as much when it isn't warm," Wu says, "but it is critically important to drink plenty of water to counteract dry fall air and indoor heated air." Try keeping a large water bottle by your desk to sip on throughout the day. At night, use a humidifier to infuse the dry air in your home with moisture.

Enjoy That Pumpkin Pie (Kinda)
Okay, maybe not pie, exactly. But definitely load up on your colorful fall veggies, like pumpkin and squash. These foods are packed with antioxidants, like beta-carotene, which help fend off damage from pollution and UV exposure, says Chiu. The results? Healthy, glowing skin all season long.
