Billy Idol may think it's a nice day for a white wedding, but we think it's a nice day for a winter wedding. Frosty air, crisp, white snow...it all sets the perfect dreamy backdrop for your big day. Not to mention all of the gorgeous makeup looks that work so well with the romance of the season. Between unexpected flourishes of color (hello, peach lips) and luminous, ethereal eye makeup, we think 'tis the season to get hitched. Even if you're not planning on tying the knot anytime soon, you'll want to peep these eight stunning makeup looks for winter weddings.

Barely There Blush
Save excessive bronzing for the summer. Winter calls for a subtle hint of sheer, rosy blush that mimics the natural flush that comes from being outside in the brisk air. One to try: Boots No7 Powder Blush in Damson Mist, $13. Keep the rest of your makeup minimal with clean eyes and a soft pink lip to complete this au naturel look.

Glossy Lids
A pretty sheen shouldn't be reserved just for lips. When used on lids, a glossy metallic shadow, like Butter London Glazen Eye Gloss in Spark, $24, comes across as dewy and fresh. Use sparingly, and blend with your fingers to sheer out the pigment. A crisp and refined cat-eye contrasts nicely and enhances the glossy finish of your eyes.

The hue normally reserved for warmer weather gives an unexpected pop of color when worn in the winter and adds interest to any minimal makeup look. Opt for a lipstick with a velvet finish, which isn't overly shiny or totally flat. One to try: Flower Beauty Kiss Stick Velvet Lip Color in So Gladiola, $6.98.

Tightlined Eyes
If you don't like the look of noticeable eyeliner, try tightlining: Line the inner waterline on both your top and bottom lids. This technique, a favorite among makeup artists, defines the shape of your eyes ever so subtly and creates the illusion of fuller lashes. A gel formula liner, like Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil, $20, makes this kind of precise application easy.
