Skin Tags: Cut Them Off
Cutting off a skin tag is the most common procedure for removing skin tags, and it's not at all painful when done by your dermatologist. "We numb the skin tag with a local anesthesia first," Lolis says. "Then, we use a gradle scissor to cut the stalk."

This procedure is perfect for those seeking instant gratification, as the skin tag is gone immediately. Just be sure to keep the area covered with a bandage for a day or two, so as not to irritate the area further.

Skin Tags: Burn, Baby, Burn
Cauterizing skin tags (i.e. burning them off) is another quick and effective method for removing skin tags -- and, as with cutting, the results are immediate. "By cauterizing them, you are burning off [the skin tags] and the cells that cause them" -- to lessen the chance that they will return. While they shouldn't occur in the same area, unfortunately there's no 100 percent guarantee they won't appear on other regions of your body.

Skin Tags: Freeze It Off
Much like removing warts, freezing off your skin tags is another quick and easy solution. "We freeze off skin tags with liquid nitrogen," Lolis says. This causes the skin tags to fall off within a few days.

When you remove skin tags by freezing them, you're essentially killing the cells causing it to grow. However, says Lolis, this solution isn't for those seeking instant gratification. "If you have them frozen off, it can take up to five days for them to be removed," she says. "I always recommend having them cut off for immediate results."
