Those teased-braids and multi-plait looks with perfectly undone pieces falling out here and there are best handled gently. "I think the easiest way to do it without over-manipulating the hair is to kind of do he-loves-me-he-loves-me-not with the braids," recommends Fugate. "Pick it apart strand by strand and throw it up into the air randomly like you would pick petals off a dandelion. A tiny piece at a time will turn into this amazing cotton-candy, fairy-floss-type texture." If you need a touch of shine at the end, Fugate recommends misting dry oil into the air and stepping into it as if it were perfume or using a dry texturing spray if you need a bit of grit to hold the style.
