Get to know the best beauty vloggers of 2017, and cast your vote for the Best Standout Influencer
Photo 1/9
Every year we round up the top-rated beauty products and let you, our amazing readers, vote on which ones deserve to win a TotalBeauty Award. This year we realized something was missing -- namely the someones who possess the talent to turn a humble contour kit or curling iron into works of art. Yep, we're talking beauty influencers.

Because we know a mascara wand wouldn't feel half as magical without the amazing YouTubers and Instagrammers who show us how to wield them, we rounded up eight of the hottest beauty vloggers around and are putting them forward as our first ever Best Standout Beauty Influencer Award nominees.

How did we narrow down our list? These star vloggers have made their mark with their huge social followings and incredible talent, as well as their totally charming personalities and messages of positivity. Whether they're totally transforming their faces, schooling us on how to recreate the hottest makeup looks or delivering beauty real talk, these beauty influencers shine. Keep reading to see all of the nominees, and then vote for your favorite Standout Beauty Influencer here (under the brands tab).

Tati Westbrook
While successful beauty vloggers tend to be in their early-to-mid-twenties, 34-year-old Tati Westbrook proves it's never too late to achieve your dreams. Before becoming a hit YouTube sensation on her channel, Glam Life Guru, Westbrook worked a nine-to-five job as an image consultant, where one of her projects inspired her to start her own channel. But jumping into the YouTube world didn't come without its challenges.

When Westbrook started her channel in 2010, she was frequently bullied and called "too old" for the biz. As if. Now a full-time YouTuber, the beauty queen has managed to tune out the haters and pick up more than two million subscribers with her honest product reviews and approachable demeanor. Plus, Westbrook knows how to hustle: She posts a whopping five videos a week. That's true fan devotion.

Patrick Starrr
If there's one guy who can do his makeup better than you, it's Patrick Starrr (aka Patrick Simondac). The glamorous beauty vlogger's goal is to "bring more boys into beauty," and judging by his two million YouTube followers, he's well on his way.

Starrr says he sees makeup as a form of expression, which all genders should be able to partake in, and he serves as a role model for men aspiring to enter the female-driven beauty world. Through his work, Starr reminds everyone it's alright to be yourself (especially if you're a guy who loves makeup). His most popular video is The Power of Makeup, where he transforms half of his face into a glamorous beauty queen, while leaving the other half au naturel. Along the way, he blessedly brings such phrases as "snatch my nose" and "comb my lashes all the way up to Jesus" into our vernacular. The end result? His positive message and sense of humor are just as stunning as his makeup skills.

Laura Sanchez
Up-and-coming beauty vlogger Laura Sanchez made her mark this past year when she won the 2016 NYX Face Awards and claimed the title as Beauty Vlogger of the Year. The Colombian beauty is a Los Angeles-based makeup artist who specializes in both beauty and special effects makeup. In fact, in one of her first NYX Face Awards challenges, Sanchez rendered herself completely unrecognizable by recreating the faun from Pan's Labyrinth. Her other top-videos include a sugar skull makeup tutorial (which any skill level can recreate) and a tutorial about how to correctly apply eyeliner for your eye shape.

Kandee Johnson
Kandee Johnson is like the super cool aunt we all wish we had. Fun, down to earth, and of course, a makeup magician, Johnson is an LA-based celebrity makeup artist, who you've probably seen on shows like "Good Morning America" and "The Late Show" or maybe even heard in the "Trolls" movie. Her specialty is celebrity transformations, and we love how she seems to find humor in everything. One example? To bring some levity to last year's particularly negativity-laden election season, Johnson took it upon herself to create a hilarious video where she transformed herself into Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton. Regardless of your political leanings, we bet it'll elicit a giggle or two. A few of her other greatest hits include a Glitterati lip tattoo video, Barbie Doll Makeup Transformation and an Angelina Jolie transformation.
