Here's Why It's Time to Start Triple Cleansing

Third time's the charm

Sure, you've been double cleansing — but what about triple cleansing? According to Soko Glam and Then I Met You founder Charlotte Cho, you may just want to add a third step to your cleansing routine. As she explained in The Klog, triple cleansing is the best way you've really eradicated all makeup, dirt, excess oils, pollutants et al from your complexion at the end of the day.

As Cho put it, the three-step Korean skin care trend is "not as insane as it sounds." After all, double cleansing (with a cleansing oil/balm, followed by a foaming cleanser) is already pretty simple and fast. To triple cleanse, all you need to do is add a preliminary sweep with a cleansing wipe to get the first layer of makeup off.

Besides, the benefits are worth the extra effort: "Triple cleansing can be beneficial for patients in urban populations with normal skin who wear sunscreen and/or makeup," explained board-certified dermatologist Dr. Anne Chapas to Allure. Ready to give the K-beauty cleansing technique a try? Keep reading for some tips — and our favorite cleansers, of course.
