The 8 Top Resort Wear Trends for 2015

The most covetable, drool-worthy pieces we'll wear everywhere

Get Shorty
Mary Katrantzou's Resort Collection featured her signature multicolored fabrics and whimsical floral patterns, but this look strayed a little from the designer's norm. Heavily textured hotpants and a blouse that leaves, well, nothing to the imagination took us all by surprise. Another surprise -- how much I actually want to be able to wear something like this.

The Trend: Blocked In
Color-blocking can either come off as artful and extremely figure flattering, or it can come off as a hot mess. But if there's any label you can trust to do it right 100 percent of the time, it's Pucci. The color-blocking on this sheath dress cuts the figure into visually slimming proportions.

It's a Wrap
Isn't it about time you have a wrap dress designed by the queen? Diane von Furstenberg that is. This colorful, sleeveless wrap is the perfect solution to warm weather work attire.

Make the Cut
Bright orange pops against a field of navy on this asymmetrically cut dress from Mugler Resort 2015. But if you ask me, she could use an orange lip (the experts told us so).

Who's the Boss
Of all the runway ensembles I've ever drooled over, I've maybe considered five percent to be wearable in real life. Well, Rouland Mouret, congratulations, you just made the five percent! The color-blocking on this sheath dress is perfect for a summer day at the office. Add one of these statement belts and you'll be the envy of all your coworkers (and me).

The words "resort wear" tend to mislead people when it comes time for yet another season of ubiquitous fashion shows. But what sounds like the showing of multiple collections featuring swimwear and sarongs (most likely at a time when you're stuck in a hot office dreaming of vacation), is actually a showing of trends appropriate for any season. This year's resort collections features coats we're coveting for the autumn chill, sheer dresses that have us scheduling time at the gym, and, OK, there are also some vacation-worthy pieces. Here, our favorite trends from the resort 2015 Collections. Use them to start your "back-to-school" pre-fall shopping list.
