20+ Reasons We Tuned in to The Golden Globes

Award winners or not, these stars killed it on the red carpet (and, okay, a few missed the mark)

Most Blinding
We hope the paparazzi packed their sunglasses -- one of the carpet's hottest trends was blinding onlookers with head-to-toe sparkly, embellished and bedazzled gowns that made the costumes in "American Hustle" look like child's play. Kate Beckinsale was walking piece of art in her Zuhair Murad dress, Michelle Dockery sparkled in a Oscar de la Renta gown, Naomi Watts stunned in a shiny, nude halter dress by Tom Ford and Camilla Alves slinked into a long sleeved gown by Dolce and Gabbana.

Best Use of Statement Jewelry
The red carpet showdown is always about the dresses (no breathless reporting on tuxedos and suits here), but our eyes went straight to Sofia Vergara's turquoise statement necklace. The bold finishing touch really popped and set the stage for her light, loose waves and deep pink lip -- a combo that made Vergara's Zac Posen gown stand out from the sea of others on the red carpet.

Prettiest Pony
We couldn't decide whether or not we liked Sandra Bullock's dress (baby blue and baby pink?!), but her hair was something we could all agree on. Her sleek side ponytail paired perfectly with the plunging neckline of her Prabal Gurung gown. We also loved Bullock's wavy ends and deep pink lip -- a lovely way to cap the flirty, polished look.

Most Grown Up
"Mad Men" kiddo Keirnan Shipka usually gets all the love for her sartorial game as a 14-year-old, but at the Globes, the spotlight was squarely on "Modern Family" actress Ariel Winter. Wearing understated makeup, a simple middle part and her Mikael D one-strapped, wine-colored dress, the 15-year-old looked all grown up, but not uncomfortably so.

Most Memorable for All the Wrong Reasons
Did you sneak a peek at Paula Patton's plus one? No, we're not talking about Robin Thicke -- we're talking about the ginormous monster of a sleeve on her Stephane Rolland dress. To say it was somewhat distracting would be an understatement -- we're not even entirely sure what Patton introduced on stage because her dress was screaming "Look at me!" the entire time. Mission accomplished, dress. Mission accomplished.
