Shoe Heaven: SJP Style
Some lucky ducks at The Coveteur got to tag along with Oprah Winfrey's bff, Gayle King (she of "CBS This Morning" co-anchordom) and O Magazine's Creative Director, Adam Glassman, as they met with Sarah Jessica Parker for a sneak peek at her first-ever shoe line.

To say that King -- a lifelong shoe-a-holic -- was excited to be in on the top secret viewing would be a gross understatement.

If the Shoe Fits ...
Glassman, who presented one of SJP's shoes in full-on Prince Charming mode, knew how much this glimpse into shoe heaven would mean to King -- and the entire day is well documented in the February issue of O Magazine.

A Shoe Line Was Born
As fans of "Sex and the City" know all too well, Carrie Bradshaw never met a designer shoe she didn't like. And, when the series ended in 2004, Parker was besieged by offers to represent various shoe lines or to design a line herself. Not wanting to attach her name to a shoddy product and not wanting to gouge the public, Mrs. Broderick waited till the time was right. Then she placed a phone call.

And The Dream Becomes a Reality
"Sarah called me and said she'd been thinking a lot about shoes." George Malkemus, CEO of Manolo Blahnik USA recalls in O Magazine. "Before she could finish that sentence, I said, 'Be in my office tomorrow morning.'"

And, thus began a beautiful collaboration.

Meet the 'Girls'
By all accounts, Parker delighted in the expression on King's face when she walked into the suite at NYC's tony Crosby Street Hotel and nearly drowned in a sea of shoes.

"Meet the girls," Glassman said.

"Yes," Parker added. "These are the girls I didn't get to have." Then, to an awestruck King, she pointed out Inez, Fawn, Iva, Ina, Tanny, Bobbie, Brigitte and, of course, Carrie.
