Sparkles Everwhere at Tadashi Shoji
Even if you're not into glitter, you have to appreciate the ice princess look M.A.C. makeup artist Pep Gay designed to go with Tadashi Shoji's Spring 2015 collection. The key is to keep everything sheer to avoid looking like you lost a fight with a unicorn. He used M.A.C. Pearl Varnish Eye Gloss (limited edition this fall) over the eyelids and out toward the brows. He then pressed Cream Colour Base onto the cheekbones and cupid's bow for that lit-from-within glow, and finished it off with a touch of a not-yet-released shade of Lipglass. The resulting look is fresh, polished and light.

Royal Blue Eye Shadow at Dannijo
A cobalt eye shadow, seen at Dannijo, is an on-trend way to add an unexpected pop of color to your makeup routine. It looks fantastic and shows up against darker skin tones. Makeup artist Yadim used Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Pure Pigments in Brash Blue over the lids to create this eye-defining look. With eye shadow this bold, all your lips need is a swipe of a neutral balm (Yadim used Maybelline Baby Lips in Quenched on the models).

Classic Red Lips at Carolina Herrera
Put the emphasis on your lips with bold, brick-red lipstick as seen at Carolina Herrera. Gilded eye shadow brings warmth to darker skin tones, and makes for an updated classic look you could definitely wear before Spring 2015 (hello, holiday party inspiration).

Updated Smoky Eye at Prism
Jewel-toned eye shadows are especially rich and sultry on dark skin. At Prism, Lucero gave model's what she calls a "deconstructed darling" look by creating a smoky eye with Stila Jewel Eye Shadow in Amethyst, and then adding an unexpected, but subtle, touch of gold in the crease (she used Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Smudge Stick in Gilded) to illuminate the eye.

Here at Total Beauty, we can appreciate the fashion that comes down the runways during New York Fashion Week, but what really sets our hearts aflutter: the gorgeous new makeup trends we get to look forward to. While you can adapt any trend seen on the runway to suit your skin tone, we found six makeup looks that were especially gorgeous on dark skin. From vibrant eye shadows to gilded smoky eyes, here are the best runway makeup looks (so far) for dark skin.
