I Tried Revlon's New 360 Dryer and Here's What I Thought

You might think a 360 blow dryer sounds too good to be true. At first, so did I.

My Normal Non-360 Results
I have very fine, long hair. In addition to being far-finer than I would like, it has a lovely little knack of getting frizzy beyond belief. So frizzy, in fact, that I've been forced to come to terms with flyaways on a daily basis. Luckily, this year natural hair and makeup have been embraced unlike ever before, which has kept me from getting too bummed about it. Does that mean I don't wish that it could be full of next-level shine without a single hair out of place? Please...who doesn't want runway-ready locks? Since I knew that the new Revlon 360 Dryer is known for its maximum frizz control, I knew it was time to experiment in the name of journalism (and gorgeous hair, obviously).

Post-Shower, Pre-Dry
As someone with fine hair, it never takes long to dry my long locks -- until I got custom-made extensions by NYC's Master Colorist, that is. While Chelsey Pickthorn gave me the 4-1-1 on all things long hair care, it didn't dawn on me that I'd finally understand what it's like to spend more than ten minutes drying my hair. I always listened to my mom, my sister and my friends complaining about the dread of drying their thick tresses and I never understood it. And then I got extensions.

There's something about adding hair to your mane that isn't your own that requires added TLC. From spending more time combing, to more time drying, I've certainly learned a lot about myself, my beauty habits and how far I've veered from my normal, low-maintenance hair care routine. Above all, I've learned that there's a real need in the beauty industry for superspeedy, conditioning drying tools. So, now you can understand why I had to get my hands on this one-of-a-kind 360 dryer as soon as I caught wind.

Instead of reaching for my traditional drugstore-bought blow-dryer, today I hopped out of the shower, combed my hair, unwrapped my pretty new hair tool, prayed to the hair goddesses and turned on the hard-to-believe, lofty-promise, dual-air tool.

By Far the Best Feature...
Y'all...you know that feeling when something feels too good to be true, and your parents always taught you to believe that if it feels too good to be true, it probably is, but then it's real and you're just wide-eyed and full of wonder? That's the Revlon 360 Dryer. I kid you not, I have never experienced a faster, shinier, cooler dry.

Here's how it happened: Like I told you in the beginning, the Revlon 360 is characterized by a twisting nozzle that shifts air flow from a traditional blow-dryer format to one in which you can sandwich your hair between two sides of the dryer. While I was hesitant to place my hair into a direct air shaft in fear of heat damage, I quickly learned I had nothing to worry about. This was for two reasons:
1) I kept the temperature on cool at all times.
2) I separated my hair into thin sections as I dried it.
By doing this I was able to eliminate any fear of it getting burned or sucked into the nozzles, and instead could focus on how lustrous my locks felt.

It's this nozzle that's my favorite feature of this dryer. By twisting, you're able to direct the airflow however you need. It's great if you need to blast your roots dry but want to let the rest of your hair air dry. For that, you'd use the traditional nozzle. Want to lightly dry your hair after applying salt spray for perfect waves? Twist the nozzle, sandwich sections of hair between both sides and move it down the shaft of your hair once or twice. This won't dry your hair completely, but it will help activate your wave spray.

As you can see, I played around. And, just so you know, unlike some dryers, the heat settings on the new Revlon 360 are true to form. Instead of blasting cool and getting warm air with other dryer, cool air with the Revlon truly means cool.

The End Result
Ultra-soft, supershiny strands. The best part? I didn't have to put a single product in my hair to achieve this level of gloss. As a beauty editor and contributor, I know my fair share about ionic technology and different hair tools. While I've tried a half dozen hair dryers in the past year, I can honestly say that I've never seen the benefits that ionic technology promises until using this dryer.

I will say that in terms of using it everyday, it might get a little tiresome if you choose to only use the 360 dry option rather than the traditional nozzle, because of all the required hair sectioning. But even if you don't plan on using this tool regularly, I recommend having it in your arsenal if you're in the market for a new blow-dryer that delivers salon blowout results.
