8 Looks That Prove the Cherry Red Eyeshadow Trend Is Officially Wearable

You don't need to be on the runway to pull off these red-eye looks

Of all the eyeshadow colors we've seen mixed, packaged and sold by some of our favorite makeup brands, red is the one color that seems to be the most unwearable and just plain intimidating. When one of the most rebellious makeup brands, Urban Decay, announced its newest Naked palette would consist of 12 cherry-inspired tones, some were wondering how the heck they'd pull it off (because let's be honest, we were buying it no matter what).

Believe it or not, a good cherry eye is easier to wear than you might think. From a soft wash of color to full-on graphic eyeliner, we've gathered some of the most inspiring red eyeshadow looks from the runways that you can easily pull off IRL. Whether you're headed into the office (try the "One-Dimensional look on slide #4) or getting ready for girls' night out (you'll love the "Dramatic & Smoky" look on slide #8), the cherry eyeshadow trend is more wearable than you'd think. Read on and get ready for serious inspiration coming your way.

Soft Wash of Color

For the gal who isn't ready to fully commit, a soft wash of red on the lid — like this look from the Badgley Mischka runway — will do the trick. Simply glide a red shadow over the lid and slightly on the lower lash line, and use minimal mascara.

Glossy Gel Lids

On the Barbara Bui runway, we fell in love with this glossy lid red eye look. With the shade "Henna" by Giorgio Armani, dab the gel on in the outer and inner corner of the eye. Then, feel free to use your favorite silver shadow to highlight the middle of the lid for a spotlight effect.

One-Dimensional

A red eye look doesn't have to be complicated. Just take this look from the Armani Prive runway, for example. With your favorite red shadow, blend the color onto the lid and in the crease of the eye. Then, brush it slightly on the outer corner of the lower lash line for a one-dimensional, quick and easy cherry eye.

Lower Lash Line Love

For the babe who's ready to take the plunge for a more bold cherry eye, this look from the Xuan runway is the perfect inspiration. We love this multi-dimensional, top and bottom look combining both matte shadows and shimmers.
