Halloween costumes: the perfect opportunity to show off just how with it you are. People may judge one another on their ability to keep up with the latest fashion or beauty trends throughout the rest of the year but come October 31, it's your ability to tap into an of-the-moment, entertaining or original Halloween costume idea that determines your relevance, Instagram likes and social standing at any All Hallow's Eve event you attend.

No pressure, right?

Thankfully, we've done the legwork for you, unearthing the best ideas for Halloween 2015 costumes. No pumpkins, princesses or last-minute cat ears here--just trendy Halloween 2015 costumes that are just as buzz-worthy as the personalities who inspired them.

We've already showed you how to recreate Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" makeup look for a fun squad costume, but now we're bringing you even more popular group costumes, as well as options for creative couples costumes and, of course, the hottest 2015 costumes for those who want the spotlight all to themselves on Halloween night.

Jem from 'Jem and the Holograms'
Whether you're going for the '80s cartoon version of Jem or the soon-to-be released film version of the fictional rock star, one thing's for sure: You'll need to apply a veritable eye mask of pink eye shadow around your peepers. Grab a nude eyeliner to trace the desired shape around your eyes before filling in the lines with a notice-me shade of pink shadow, like the one found in Urban Decay's Electric Pressed Pigment Palette. (Sephora's also slated to release a special edition Jem and the Holograms collection this month, for those who would rather wait for Jem-approved cosmetics.)

Jem's signature hair is long, layered and pink, but if you'd rather not commit to such a drastic hair transformation, fear not: Manic Panic has released a line of semi-permanent, Jem-inspired dyes. Spritz on the temporary dye, throw on your favorite '80s duds and rock out in a costume that will have people thinking you're truly, truly, truly outrageous.

Shame Woman from 'Game of Thrones'
Expect to see 50 shades of draped grey this Halloween with people mimicking the unforgettable nun from the season finale of "Game of Thrones." You'll need a holy woman's robe and habit -- a grey scarf will do in a pinch -- as well as a handheld bell that you can clang incessantly as you judge people all night long (a costume perk that's perfect for those who love calling people out on party fouls). Part of a couple? All the better, as one of you can be the Cersei to the other's holier-than-thou-nun. Simply grab a flesh-colored bodysuit to channel the disgraced royal on the world's most notorious walk of shame.

Cookie Lyon from 'Empire'
Cookie's style is all about opulence, so dressing up as her for Halloween will give you the chance to pile on your fiercest gear. Leopard printed, body-skimming dress? Check. (Faux) Fur coat? Check. Sky-high pumps? Check. When it comes to Cookie's style and attitude, more is more. This is one Lyon that will roar loud enough to turn heads at any Halloween party.

Joy from 'Inside Out'
The hotly anticipated Pixar release brought us Amy Poehler as the (perfectly-cast) voice of Joy. To pull off the upbeat character's pretty pixie cut, you could reach for a wig or convert your existing 'do into a faux pixie.

But whether you're pinning up long locks or working with an existing short cut, you can achieve Joy's signature blue hair color with a few swipes of a hair chalk product, such as Kevin Murphy's Color Bug.

Reach for a bright yellow liner such as Inglot's Matte Collection AMC Eyeliner Gel in 84 -- a notice-me neon shade -- as a nod to Joy's glowing aura. Finish off your costume with a fit-and-flare green floral dress and your look will have you jumping for -- wait for it -- joy.
