Sure, we saw our share of glitter and brights and other craziness on the models' nails, but our favorite looks were the manicures that whispered rather than shouted.

At Kate Spade, manicurist Deborah Lippmann added interest to dusty pink nails by painting a thin vertical line (in her own Fade to Black shade) that led to a teeny tiny pearl at the base. "It's a little bit edgy and a little bit sweet," she said.

The soft pink nails at Michael Costello got an upgrade, too. After applying Essie Topless & Barefoot, manicurist Julie Kandalec used a tiny brush dipped in Essie Penny Talk to create a pretty, flower-like design.

And at Sachin + Babi, manicurist Geraldine Holford busted out a metallic twist on the classic French manicure with a grayish-taupe base (Dermelect's Sophisticate) and a flash of silver foil on the tips.
