At Brock, makeup artist Gucci Westman shelved the charcoals, and instead, created a reddish smoky eye with shades of burgundy from Maybelline's coming-out-soon The Eyestudio Burgundy Bar Palette.

And at Self Portrait, makeup artist Erin Parsons went for a double dose of color applying sheer yellow (from the Maybelline FaceStudio Master Fairy Highlight Rainbow Highlighter) over the lids and violet (Maybelline Baby Lips Color Balm Crayon in Playful Purple) in a dramatic swipe from the inner corners up to the browbone.

We know, we know: Red lips as a makeup trend -- not exactly groundbreaking. But this season, the pros managed to make the age-old staple feel new.

At Bibhu Mohapatra, Parsons aimed to create a "face that feels like a cherry blossom," and it was the vivid red lips that anchored the look. To get them, she filled in the mouth with Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Liner in Very Cherry, then topped that with a not-yet-in-stores crimson lipstick and a shimmery beige eyeshadow (Maybelline's The Glo Down) in the center for a metallic finish.

Parsons was also seeing red at Naeem Khan with a glossy deep-red lip that was a true group effort: three layers of lipstick (a wine, a burgundy, and a berry), red lipliner and a final topping of two different shades of Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Hot Lacquer (Sassy allover, and Classic dotted in the middle).
