Debut Shows to Stalk at New York Fashion Week 2013

You know their names, but this is the first time they'll show at NYFW

Opening Ceremony
Why We're Excited: It's mind-blowing to think that this 10-year-old fashion collaborative has never had its own show at NYFW. They've dressed major trendsetters like Chloe Sevigny and Rihanna, and been part of important collaborations, but designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon are stepping into the limelight this year on Pier 57. Expect OC's signature and sleek materials paired in unique and creative ways for ready-to-wear looks that embrace the brands passion for travel, art and fashion.

Bonus: Opening Ceremony will host a week-long pop-up marketplace (complete with food and manis) where the label will also show Rihanna's new River Island collection and a DKNY for Opening Ceremony collaboration.

AllSaints
Why We're Excited: This brand never is all about innovative, East London style, and there's already buzz about the label's first show. Word is, show attendees will get a multi-media experience integrating clothes, digital and music in a way that shakes up the typical NYFW format.

Celebrities like Halle Berry, Kristin Stewart, Jessica Biel, Blake Lively, Vanessa Hudgens and Britney Spears have been spotted wearing the label from time to time -- from biker pants and boyfriend sweaters to leather jackets and combat boots.

Adam Selman
Why We're Excited: Selman is the costumer designer responsible for Rihanna's one-of-kind pieces and collaborations with the high street fashion brand River Island, and he has also styled Gwen Stefani, Lady Gaga, and Michael Jackson. So, yeah, it was just a matter of time before he launched his own line.

Selman's ready-to-wear spring line is sexy and soft with a sporty edge. The collection includes swimwear, subtle lingerie and athletic wear, including sweatshirts, jersey-esque tops, robes and slip dresses. Dresses are priced around $400 -- a price tag geared for being picked up by luxury retailers like Barney's and Net-a-Porter.

Jason Wu's Makeup Line
Why We're Excited: Wu rocketed to fame when he was chosen to design First Lady Michelle Obama's inauguration dress, and we can't wait to see how his modern-meets-elegant fashion designs translate into this makeup collab with Lancome. The 15-piece collection includes navy mascara, red lipsticks and shimmery eye shadows in sleek, gray packaging. Runway models will also tote the line in transparent lace makeup bags as accessories.

The White Space
Why We're Excited: This new event was designed to lift unique, talented, emerging designers above the fray and chaos of New York Fashion Week. Of the five designers debuting, we're most excited to see the looks from Holly Fowler, a London-based designer specializing in hand-painted designs. Fowler has worked with Louis Vuitton, Zac Posen, Diane von Furstenberg, Chloe and John Galliano.
