The Everything Lip Product
When it comes to lip color, I want a little of everything but not too much of any one thing. Give me a hint of shine, a bit of color and some moisture, and I'm happy. But for some reason, it's a challenging ask. Tinted balms are too sheer. Lipsticks are too heavy. Lip stains last too long. Giorgio Armani Ecstasy Lacquer, $38, is none of those things, but yet it's something. It's the ultimate gloss-stick-stain-balm hybrid for anyone who's indecisive like me.

A Milk Cleanser That Foams
As I've gotten older, my skin has gotten drier, and I made the executive decision to switch to cream and milk cleansers. While my skin is happier for it, I miss the sudsy deep clean you get with a foaming cleanser. Fortunately, Ole Henriksen Empower Foaming Milk Cleanser, $26, is the best of both: It's silky and hydrating like a cream yet it gets just the right amount of sudsy. You feel like your pores are getting properly excavated but not stripped. And it has cotton for moisture, cloudberry for antioxidant protection and willow bark to exfoliate. It's got something for everyone -- regardless of skin type.

Greenhouse-Inspired Scents
I do not like the heat -- I'm team winter all the way. But I understand that there are people who love nothing more than sweltering afternoons and glaring sun. Designers and artists Isabel and Ruben Toledo are two such people, and they attribute it to their Cuban heritage. When they moved to NYC, they brought the tropics with them by converting their loft into a quasi-greenhouse (air-conditioning free, of course). And, in turn, the hothouse, as they call it, became the inspiration for their new fragrances: Hothouse Beauties by Isabel and Ruben Toledo, $52.50 each at Lane Bryant. The scents are warm -- you can almost smell the sunshine -- green and floral, and the gorgeous bottles are reminiscent of the 100-year-old windows in their home. One sniff will transport you to a steamy garden -- whether you're in balmy Cuba or somewhere much chillier.

Yes, You need a Booster Serum
I know I'm not in the majority, but I love when I can add another step to my skin care routine. Forget multitasking products -- give me more, more, more. That's why Elizabeth Arden SuperStart Skin Renewal Booster, $65, is perfect for me (and people like me -- you know who you are). It's a booster serum you apply right after cleansing and before your serum and moisturizer. It's designed to improve the condition of your skin's outer later -- known as the stratum corneum -- which helps your other products sink in better and enhances the health of your skin overall. It contains a probiotic complex to balance microflora (yes, tiny organisms live on your face) and flaxseed extract to improve your lipid barrier. And it can even decrease sensitivity. Now, don't you think you need to add another step?

Superluxe Foundation Light
We recently wrote up the best foundations for people who hate foundations, and I'm already adding another one to the list. The newly revamped La Prairie Skin Caviar Concealer Foundation SPF 15, $215, is sure to win over any foundation hater. It feels so lightweight yet it provides tons of coverage that lasts all day, and it's packed with peptides for lifting and firming. The perfectly matched concealer in the cap is more than a bonus -- it's an awesome product on its own. And I'm a sucker for the blue packaging and fancy brush stand you get with this splurge.

September is a fantastic month for many reasons but one thing trumps them all: It's shopping season. It's time to stock up on boots, snag some cozy sweaters and -- if you're anything like me -- buy all new post-summer skin care, fall makeup and fun hair products.

Fortunately, beauty brands will gladly feed our need for shopping, and there are countless new products hitting store shelves in September. From booster serums to face masks, there's a lot of exciting news in skin care -- and I rounded up some fragrances, makeup and hair products, as well. After all, it's shopping season.
