A Candle That Will Make Your Home So Much Cozier
Diptyque makes some of the most glamorous candles out there. The graphics are cool, the scents are rich and complex and the overall effect is chic, chic, chic.

Rumor has it a Diptyque operative recently found a vintage sachet of potpourri in the back of a drawer in the flagship store in Paris. Naturally, it smelled incredible, and a new candle scent was born. Diptyque Le Redouté Scented Candle, $85, is a blend of cinnamon, clove, rose, cedar and amber, which, to me, equates to a cushy log cabin decked out for Christmas. It also happens to be exactly how I want my apartment to smell all the time. Add to that the hand-poured porcelain vessel (each one looks unique), and you've basically created my dream candle.

An Impossibly Light Deep Conditioning Treatment
I would slap half a tub of deep conditioner on my hair every morning if it wouldn't leave my style as lifeless as an old dishrag. I just love the soft, moisturized, split-end-hiding effects of a good in-shower treatment. Fortunately, superstar hair guru Rita Hazan must have read my mind (or at least felt the same way). She created Rita Hazan Weekly Remedy, $42, and it's the anti-deep conditioner deep conditioner.

The two-step process begins by opening the hair cuticle and infusing each strand with moisturizing oils and strengthening rice proteins. After you rinse that off, the second step closes the cuticle to seal the hair. So instead of depositing ingredients on top of the hair like a regular deep conditioner, these strand-savers are actually pushed inside -- and you can tell by the way it feels: silky yet bouncy (and very un-dishrag-like).

Your Favorite Fall Flavor in a Lip Balm
There isn't a woman in America who doesn't get giddy over pumpkin season. (Yes, that's a gross generalization, but I can't get enough pumpkin -- can you?) Pumpkin lattes. Pumpkin ice cream. Pumpkin bread. Pumpkin beer. It's delicious and cozy and is the very essence of fall. I'm equally giddy that Burt's Bees decided to get in the pumpkin game with Burt's Bees Pumpkin Spice Moisturizing Lip Balm, $3.29. They took their beloved lip balm formula and added a splash of pumpkin seed oil for even more moisture in our favorite seasonal flavor. Yum.

A Primer You'll Actually Want to Use
Using a primer is like taking a daily multivitamin. I know it would be good for me, but I never remember -- or if I do remember, I intentionally skip it just to save 20 seconds. But there's something about the new Dolce & Gabbana The Primer Sheer Radiance Make Up Base, $64, that makes me want to use it. Instead of feeling slippery like silicone-packed primers, the texture is more like lotion, and with olive oil and gold silk extract, it's moisturizing, too. It dries matte, but it lets my makeup look dewy (not shiny) all day. The glam packaging certainly doesn't hurt either.

Lighter Version of a Classic
Many years ago, I became obsessed with the story of Fresh Creme Ancienne. It's an anti-aging face cream that's hand-blended in a monastery. The formula was derived from a cold cream recipe that dates back to the second century. Doesn't that sound dreamy? But just because I geeked out on the history doesn't mean my skin loved the heavy, balm-like cream. The new version -- Fresh Creme Ancienne Soft Cream, $280 -- is similar but so much lighter. It has meadowfoam seed oil, Echinacea and vitamin E, which make it ultra-hydrating but it's whipped and airy instead of dense.

October is my favorite month, hands down. While it may not have the same back-to-school-fever feeling of September, it's when the weather actually starts to change and we begin thinking about the -- gasp -- holidays. Plus, the new beauty products launching this month happen to be particularly spectacular -- so that doesn't hurt, either.

There's a brand new skin care line that just came over from Japan (see: "Mad Scientist Serum") and a collection of nail polishes perfectly tailored to your astrological sign (shout-out to my fellow Geminis). You'll also find my new favorite candle, which is perfect for getting you in the pre-holiday spirit and a lip balm to match your favorite seasonal latte (can you guess the flavor?). Whether you want to spend $3 or $300, I've got an awesome new beauty product for you. October is going to be a good one.
