There's everything from a detoxifying mask to a reparative nail polish to help you survive holiday party season in style.

Detox Mask
I love sheet masks, but sometimes I wonder if they're really doing anything more than moisturizing. So I decided to try the new Erno Laszlo Detoxifying Hydrogel Mask, $16, after co-hosting my sister-in-law's engagement party. I got up early to catch a flight back to New York the next day, and my skin was a wreck. I slapped on this cool gel mask, and 15 minutes later my skin looked bright, plump and dewy. The mask didn't slip around while I was wearing it (a bonus since I was sitting in front of my computer working), and the charcoal helped pull out toxins that definitely accumulated the night before.

Nail Polish Plus
My nails are prone to splitting, and all the cuticle oil in the world doesn't seem to make a difference. When I started using Sally Hansen Color Therapy Nail Polish, $8.99, however, I could tell my nails were healthier after just one manicure. It's infused with argan oil to hydrate your nails while you wear it. It comes in 38 awesome colors (the opaque ones are seriously full coverage -- the oil doesn't water them down one bit), and it has Sally Hansen's awesome wide brush for the easiest DIY mani possible.

Gentle Acne Treatment
Whenever I have a breakout, I apply layer after layer of clay and benzoyl peroxide-based products and end up drying out the entire quadrant of my face. Nerd Acne Treatment Lotion, $85, works in a completely different way. It's an oil-like serum that's loaded with plant extracts that encourage the good bacteria on your face. The bad acne-causing bacteria gets pushed out, and the breakout is gone in a day or two -- without even a flake of dryness.

Does-it-All Salve
All of a sudden, dry skin season is here. One day my hands were fine; the next they were cracked and flaky. Fortunately, I had a tube of Make Marine Salve, $20, in my bag. I whipped it out on the train platform and rubbed it into my unsightly knuckles, and my hands were instantly silky but not greasy. This miracle balm is also great on dry lips--protecting skin with a host of natural butters and oils.

Static Guard Shampoo
My friend Amber and I have the same hair. Sure, she's a blonde, and I'm a brunette, but our natural texture is similar, and we style our hair the same way. Close enough. When she texted to say that Hairstory New Wash, $40, was perfect for "our hair," I had to try it. While New Wash works like a cleansing conditioner, it's extremely light so it doesn't weigh down our fine hair, yet it leaves behind enough product that waves are smooth and controlled -- exactly what we need. It's especially good for static -- something we could all use some help with this time of year.

December is a major month for two things: shopping and parties. And both of those things have a lot to do with beauty. There are countless new beauty products to scoop up in stores -- from holiday gifts to new skin care goodies. And all of these new beauty products will help you look your best when you have a packed social calendar. From a magical acne treatment serum to a body wash gift set you'll definitely want to keep for yourself, these are the best new beauty products to buy this December.
