8 New Beauty Products to Covet This April

From a tiny cocktail shaker of lip gloss to the fluffiest whipped conditioner, there are so many amazing new beauty products to fall in love with this month

Miracle Balm
I wish I could take a bath in Lano All-Over Golden Dry Skin Salve, $27. It's a wildly soothing, natural, multipurpose balm I put on my cuticles, lips, feet, face, elbows … basically everywhere. In addition to magical things like Manuka honey and apricot kernel seed oil, the key ingredient is lanolin, which comes from sheep. Now, have no fear: No sweet sheep were harmed in the making of this salve. Lanolin is a byproduct of wool; and the kind that's used here is medical grade and incredibly pure. Plus, the brand's founder is a gorgeous Australian who spent time growing up on her grandfather's sheep farm. To say she's convincing would be an understatement.

Shake Up Your Lip Gloss Game
At any given time, I have no fewer than 10 lip products rolling around the bottom of my bag. There are balms and glosses and stains, and I generally alternate between them. Then, Lancôme Juicy Shaker, $21, came into my life, and I've been ignoring my other lippies ever since. This tiny cocktail shaker of hydrating lip tint (it's a bi-phase blend of oil and pigment -- that's why you have to shake it) has the coolest little sponge applicator. It goes on sheer with a pop of color, it feels delightfully moisturizing, and each one has a slightly different taste and smell. I'm all about the Berry in Love … and the Mangoes Wild … and the Cherry Symphony -- OK, all 20, really.

Conditioner in Mousse Form
I have fine hair, yet I love conditioner. I want my hair to be baby soft and brushable. However, there are plenty of fine-haired ladies who avoid conditioner completely -- and I'm sad for them. Now, there's Goldwell Kerasilk Repower Volume Foam Conditioner, $29.99, which everyone with fine hair is going to freak over. It's a conditioner, but in mousse form. And it's so much more decadent than a regular mousse -- I'm talking thick and fluffy like freshly whipped heavy cream. It smells divine and makes your hair even better. I'm confident it will convert conditioner avoiders.

A Drink for Your Skin
Many years ago, a facialist told me if your skin doesn't feel moist and a little tacky to the touch after you apply your nightly skin care, then you need to use more. Complete absorption is a bad thing -- you're not giving your skin a big enough "drink." So I layer, and I layer and layer some more -- and sometimes it still isn't enough. Enter DCL Hydra Boost Finishing Serum, $110. It's a serious moisture boost you apply after all your other steps to lock in moisture and keep your thirsty skin hydrated all night. It contains three types of hyaluronic, which really is as close as your face is going to get to a big drink.

Skin Care Scrub for Your Scalp
Because my hair is fine, I'm particularly concerned with hair thinning and scalp health. And Keranique is an interesting brand because the products were formulated for the scalp first and the hair second -- the rationale being if you have a healthy scalp, you'll have healthy, beautiful hair as a result. My new obsession is the Keranique Micro-Exfoliating Follicle Revitalizing Mask, $45, which removes buildup and exfoliates the scalp while leaving hair soft with tons of volume. It also contains special proteins and a keratin amino complex to protect against breakage, but, like I said, the hair benefits are secondary. The incredibly clean, smooth, refreshed scalp feeling is everything.

April is the first full month of spring, and the same way it's a time of rebirth in nature, there are countless new beauty products emerging. I narrowed down the best new beauty products launching in April to just the essentials -- because everyone needs a hair-rejuvenating scalp scrub and a miniature hair tie that looks like a telephone cord. All joking aside, there's so much to love about each of these new beauty products -- you'll want to run out and buy them all.
