My mom basically has automatic dibs on any hand cream that crosses my desk and this one's quickly become her favorite. And for good reason: The lightweight cream absorbs almost instantly and keeps hands protected and hydrated overnight (and even through multiple hand-washings). And the fact that it smells like orange blossoms? Icing on the cake.

When asking her about her favorite beauty products for this story, this actually was one of the first ones to come up. "It's this tinted lip balm in a fancy metal tube that looks and feels really expensive," she said, not sure of the name. We eventually determined that it was this one...and she was right, it is rather expensive for a lip balm; albeit worth it (especially for a nice Mother's Day treat).

My mom is really into all things natural (including but not limited to: yoga, meditation, homeopathy and acupuncture), so gifting her this shower gel felt like a no-brainer. She reported back that she enjoyed the gentle, pina colada-esque fragrance, the non-drying loose lather and the fact that it's super easy to rinse away.

Like I mentioned, my mom is an actor and a few months ago, she came back from set requesting (more like demanding) this particular Laura Mercier eyeshadow stick. The makeup artist had used it on her and she loved how it minimized her need for touch-ups, as well as the fact that it was quite user-friendly. Luckily for both of us, I happened to have one on hand.

If your mom, like my mom, favors a more low-key beauty look, this blush might just be perfect for the job: It looks a touch milquetoast in the pot, but it applies as a natural, tawny peach. The emollient formula adds a healthy dewiness to your complexion and it wears for hours. And yes, it's pricey, but she's been working on the same jar for around a year now. (I should probably tell her to throw it away; though I doubt she'd listen to me.)
