Even though she's an actress by trade, my mom's never cared much about skin care or beauty. But you know what she does care about? Free stuff. And ever since I started working in beauty, she's taken a much more marked interest in whatever products she can mooch off of me.
(I say that with love, of course.)
And one thing I've noticed is that the woman has good taste: A lot of the stuff that's mysteriously made its way from my makeup bag to hers is stuff that I really miss. So I figured it might be worth rounding up some of her recent favorites, in the hopes that your mom might like them too.
My mom loves this stuff so much that she takes the time to mix three (!!!) different shades to match her skin tone. (Now, with 48 available shades, that's not entirely necessary, but she had to work with what I got for free.) I have to say, it's worth the effort: The coverage is awesome yet it still has a glow-y velvet finish that gives her complexion a flawless look. She also reports that she gets lots of compliments on it.
My mom recently finished her bottle of this and has been bugging me for more. I've steered her towards a few other sunscreens I've liked, but none have lived up to this one in her book. She likes the sheer, fast-absorbing texture as well as the skin-perfecting tint. And it seems to mesh well with her active lifestyle.
Here's another sunscreen option my mother loves. It blends into skin easily and it offers great UV protection. She wears it every day for her early morning walks!
OK, I was honestly kind of mad that she commandeered this one, because it's SO good (also, she went through the ultra-pricey jar way too fast). It's without a question one of the most expensive skin creams I've ever used, but if you can spare the cash, it's definitely mom-approved and we can both attest to the fact that it smoothens and glows up your skin like nothing else.
