"I did a photo shoot once where they did glue-in curly extensions in my hair, and I was picking out glue from my scalp for like a week after the shoot," said Dakota Rhae backstage at Alice + Olivia. "It was like the black, tar-like glue that sticks to your scalp. It was a mess. I had to use a fine-toothed lice comb because I couldn't get it out with a regular brush or comb. I also tried using a bunch of products to get it out, but the only thing that worked was going through it over and over again with the comb."

"I tried to use box dye on my hair one time trying to get like a tawny brown and instead it came out this awful orangey-red color. I don't know if it was the brand or what, but it was terrible. I couldn't re-dye it right away, so I just rocked it for a while," said Kristina Elise backstage at Veronica Beard. "People were like, 'Did you dye your hair?' but they didn't really compliment it... I waited six to eight weeks to re-dye it the color I have now."

Back when I was just starting high school, I was trying to wax off my upper lip — you know, you want to be perfect when you just start school. Anyway, right after I waxed it, I put acne cream all over my entire face and it created this burn across my upper lip where I waxed," said Stephanie Jackson backstage at Pamella Roland. "It looked like I had one of those French mustaches. I tried to cover it up with lots of foundation and concealer, but people definitely noticed. It probably only took like a week or so to recover, but it was so traumatizing in the moment."
