Master the Orange Lip Look

How to wear the wham-bam lip color of the moment, plus tips for balancing your statement lip with the rest of your makeup

Spring's biggest beauty trend is orange lips, and we're ditching pastel and nude pouts for tangerine, melon and even neon citrus lips. One part vintage pinup, one part modern cool-girl, this style is bold yet so sophisticated that you could wear it to the office. (Really!) Here's how to punch up your usual 9-to-5 look -- and how to balance your show-stopping lip hue with the rest of your makeup.

Even out your skin tone by applying a luminous foundation all over your face. Set the makeup with a dusting of translucent powder.

Using a small shadow brush, sweep a shimmery champagne shadow onto the brow bone. Apply mascara to top and bottom lashes. Then, swipe stick foundation or concealer onto a makeup sponge and pat over your lips. This will neutralize your lips' natural hue to make the orange really pop.

The Secret for Perfectly Lined Lips
Line and fill in lips with Sonia Kashuk Velvety Matte Lip Crayon (inset) in Poppy Nude, a reddish orange. Create a more precise lip line or correct any smudges by dabbing a concealer brush in foundation and tracing just outside your natural lip line.

Get Defined Brows in an Instant
Groom your brows with a tinted brow gel. Before the gel dries, brush your brows with a clean spoolie brush to make the tint look more natural.

Make Those Cheekbones Pop
Use a cream bronzer in the hollow of each cheek for a sculpted-looking face. Then, dab a sheer cream coral blush on the apple (the fleshy part) of each cheek.
