We're swooning over Jennifer Lopez's ultra-luxe photo shoot for the August issue of W Magazine. You'll see her swathed in furs and Harry Winston jewels in front of her Bronx childhood home looking va-va-voom with pin-up waves, bright red lipstick, and flawless face, but this boudoir pic is our favorite. (Suddenly, a Louis Vuitton nightgown seems downright practical.)

Braids are everywhere. Lately, we're seeing braided updos and fishtail ponys at every red carpet event. It was just a matter of time for the side cornrow braid to take off. Since Khloe Kardashian made it a statement last month, stars like Carmen Electra, Kristen Stewart and even Jennifer Aniston have been spotted with it. We love anyone who tries out the edgy-chic, side-swept look but let's face it -- no one can pull it off as tastefully (and fearlessly) as Ri Ri.

Typically, when we see pics of Maggie Gyllenhaal, we immediately go off the rails daydreaming about her hot brother, Jake. But we actually zoomed in on her look from last night's "White House Down" premiere. The quirky, talented actress is screaming warm-weather style in all the right ways. This summer-dewy makeup with a bright pink lip is doable in just a few steps:

1. Apply a tinted moisturizer, like Josie Maran Tinted Moisturizer, $38, all over your face.
2. Next, use a highlighter on your T-zone (we love Juice Beauty Irresistible Glow Facial Highlighter, $22). Apply it to your forehead, nose, and cheeks, and blend in evenly using a sponge.
3. Line your upper eyelids using a liquid eyeliner pen, making sure your line grows thicker as you reach the outer corners of your eyes. Then apply a set of demi eyelashes, like Arbell InvisiBands Demi Wispies, $4.99, to add a subtly dramatic touch.
4. Blot the apples of your cheeks using a cream blush stain (we love Ulta Cream Blush, $26. Blend it up to your temples as desired.
5. Finish with a fuchsia lip color, like Pixie Lip Blush, $18.

Recently, reputable nail experts -- celebrity stylists, fashion houses, magazines -- bemoaned (or celebrated) the death of nail art. But Chanel just reopened a Pandora's box of fingernail bedazzling with the flashy debut of nail rings at their fall couture show in Paris.

We were all about the subtle nail art trends this summer, but these rings are making us re-think the genre. First, slipping bejeweled bands on your nude nails is far easier than attempting to recreate that geometric or animal print manicure you saw on Pinterest. Second, we love how these nail rings ride the line of graceful and daring, but carry on the minimalist nail polish trend. Third, they're diamond encrusted -- 'nuff said.

Our only concern is functionality. We'd hate to accidentally bake a Chanel finger ring into a pie. Or watch it tumble into a gutter while hailing a cab. Clearly, these pretty pieces are designed for special occasions, or those lucky enough to never have to lift a finger. But that doesn't mean a girl can't dream ...

Chanel haute couture is never anything less than unapologetically bold and ahead-of-the-curve. This year's show was no exception, featuring a look we can't stop staring at: audacious brows, rosy cheek-to-temple blush, faint lip balm, and a super sleek ponytail with a perfectly taut pompadour. Although it's all about the clothes (after all, it is a fashion show), the hair and makeup look speaks for itself - tres magnifique.
