Choose a Volumizing Mascara
If you want to know how to make your eyes look bigger, the formula of your mascara does matter. While we're fans of the clumpy lash trend, Kaye says to steer clear of separating mascaras that give you a spiky look, and instead opt for a volumizing mascara.

Roncal adds that a volumizing mascara will give you long, sexy lashes that really make your eyes stand out. Her secret application tip (well, not so secret anymore): Apply the mascara toward the bridge of your nose and fan your lashes out. And don't even think about applying only one coat -- two are needed to give you that extra volume and oomph.

Try CoverGirl The SuperSizer LashBlast Mascara, $6.85, for amazing volume, length and curl.

Break Out Your Lash Curler
Discovering how to make your eyes look bigger becomes a lot easier when you add a lash curler to your beauty tools. "Curling your lashes makes a huge difference," says Kaye. "If you do a side by side in the mirror with one side curled and the other side not curled, you can easily see what a dramatic difference it makes."

She says to curl your lashes while they are still wet from your mascara, as this helps them stay in place all day. Because curling your lashes after applying mascara can make them break off -- it's imperative that the mascara should still be wet, not dry.

Give Your Eye Prescription a Boost
Makeup not your thing? For eyes that look instantly healthy and larger, up your contact lens prescription to the new 1-Day Acuvue Define (prices start at $65 for one month) lenses. Being in the beauty biz, it takes a lot for a product to elicit shock and awe -- yet, that's exactly what happened when I put them in.

The lenses create a pronounced limbal ring (the outline around the iris), making your eyes appear visually brighter, whiter and more awake," says Kaye. "It's like having magazine-quality retouching for your eyes, but in person."

You can get them with your regular contact lens prescription, or use them purely as a cosmetic enhancement. They come in three effects that complement all eye colors, but you can try Natural Sparkle for blue eyes, Natural Shimmer for hazel/brown eyes and Natural Shine for darker eyes.
