What About Severely Chapped Lips?
To treat severely chapped lips, follow your lip exfoliation with Sadick's healing regimen:

Apply aloe vera twice a day to alleviate inflammation (we like Aubrey Pure Aloe Vera Gel, $12.95). Finish with a lip balm containing colloidal oatmeal and natural oils, such as Carmex Comfort Care Lip Balm, $1.99, which, says Sadick, will moisturize, protect and aid skin regeneration. Like Glossier's The Balm Dotcom, this Carmex balm is made with castor oil, beeswax and cupuacu butter.

Use Coconut Oil -- or Any Other Oil
"Any oil-based product that is non-irritating, such as coconut, emu and sunflower oil, can be excellent for chapped lips," says Swann. "Natural and synthetic oils function as a wet-barrier on skin, preventing desiccation and dehydration."

Reach for oil-infused balms like intensive moisturizing multitasker Kopari Coconut Balm, $32, or lip oil treatments like Hourglass No. 28 Lip Treatment Oil, $44 -- a supremely hydrating and lip-plumping elixir.

Or, if you don't mind the mess, you can apply a dab of olive oil or coconut oil to chapped lips before bed.

Honey Is a Chapped Lips All-Star
"Apart from sealing in moisture, honey has a plethora of anti-inflammatory ingredients that soothe chapped lips," says Sadick. If you don't feel like slathering your lips with straight honey, give a honey-infused balm like Nuxe Reve De Miel Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm, $15, a try. It's thick and nourishing, without any stickiness.

Slap on Cucumber Slices
Just as cucumbers can hydrate and soothe puffy eyes, the spa-like treatment is an equally effective chapped lips remedy, says Sadick. Think of them as a sheet mask for your lips. Just press the cold, sliced cucumbers against your lips for a few minutes and voila: instant rejuvenation.

For more portable options, try cucumber-infused lip balms, like Neutrogena MoistureShine Lip Soother, $7.99, or ElizabethW Cucumber Lip Balm, $5.

Apply Antioxidant-Rich Tea
Known for their free-radical-busting abilities, antioxidants like those found in tea are known as skin-protecting, anti-aging superstars -- and they also happen to be great for chapped lips, explains Prystowsky. Sadick recommends placing chamomile or green tea bags that have been steeped and chilled over the lips to help heal and soothe.
