9 Products That Prove Hair Removal Doesn't Have to Suck

Toss that grungy disposable razor. With these new hair removal products, you'll (almost) enjoy the de-fuzzing process
Do-it-yourself waxing takes some practice, but once you've got it down, you may never go back to a salon. If you've been scared to try it because you have sensitive or breakout-prone skin, this zinc oxide-based wax will be your new best friend. It's shockingly gentle, yet it takes care of fine to medium hair without a problem.

I never thought I cared if my razor smelled good -- that is, until I smelled this one. The new Sugarberry scent from Venus & Olay is sweet and summery, which is exactly what you want before you throw on a sundress. Of course it also has five blades that glide easily, and it really moisturizes as you shave.

If shaving makes your skin red and angry, this shave lotion is for you. It's packed with soothing chamomile, calendula, and primrose oils to calm skin. Plus, it's aloe-based, which provides a nice gel buffer between the blades and your sensitive flesh.

Nair has come a long way. The stinky, stinging formulas from back-in-the-day are a thing of the past. The latest is a clay-based depilatory cream that's made with mango butter and acai berry extract. First, you prep the area with the pre-use wipes. Then, you apply the cream to dry skin, let it sit for a few minutes, and shower it off. Finally, you finish with a post-treatment gel moisturizer. The results are great, it smells amazing, and you can use it just about anywhere.

This spray helps calm pain and redness after shaving or waxing. The best part is that it's a spray -- so you don't have to get it on your hands. Plus, it smells fresh (not medicinal) and it's easy to carry with you.

Vanna White is Jenny McCarthy's hair removal guru. (Trust me, this is going somewhere.) "When I first moved to LA and I was broke and looking for work, I hung out with Vanna because we had the same agent," says McCarthy. "And Vanna told me about laser hair removal. She always had her arms up because she was turning the letters, so she had to be hair-free."

After a few laser hair removal sessions at the dermatologist, McCarthy ran out of cash and turned to waxing. She was satisfied with the results, but she was annoyed at the constant maintenance. Years later, she picked up the Tria Laser Hair Removal System, $449, and now she's all about DIY hair removal. "I sit on the couch and laser my legs while I'm watching TV," she says. "It's just so easy."

The moral of Jenny's story? Hair removal shouldn't cost thousands of dollars, and it shouldn't be wildly time consuming or painful. Laser isn't for everyone, but there are so many amazing options out there -- options that don't include using a dull, disposable razor.
