Beach vacations, poolside margaritas and neon pedicures may be behind us, but that doesn't mean there's not plenty to look forward to in the fall. Along with pumpkin spice lattes, football season and cozy ensembles, gorgeous fall nail colors are here to make the seasonal transition just a little easier.
As we put our brights on the back burner, it's time to embrace the modern and mature shades of autumn. Shelly Hill , Base Coat General Manager and manicurist to Gwen Stefani, notes that this year's fall nail color inspiration comes straight from the runway. "For instance, St. Laurent's collection featured lots of browns, teals and deep vampy shades," says Hill, "This season also has a lot of '80s rocker influence" (think: holographics, deep reds, oranges and greens). Other beauty brands are taking us on fall adventures. Chanel's fall collection is a nod to the colors found on a a road trip down the Pacific Coast Highway, while OPI's showing darker environmental tones and muted pops of color inspired by Iceland.
