The Best Makeup Look For Your Eye Shape

We all want our eyes to look bigger, brighter, better -- these are the looks that will enhance every eye shape

Deep Set Eyes
You have deep set eyes if ... Your eyes are large and set deeper into the skull. You also have very prominent brow bones.

Think: Julianne Moore

The challenge: Prominent brows create minimal eyelid space; eyelashes get lost; and smoky eyes make eyes appear smaller.

Your makeup look: Open up eyes with shadows that have beige, nude or pink undertones (depending on your skin tone) and smudge liner close to lashline to enhance lashes.

Monolid
You have monolid eyes if ... The surface of your eyelid is flat and there is little crease, if any.

Think: Lucy Liu

The Challenge: It's difficult to create definition for looks like smoky eyes.

Your makeup look: Try a gradient of eye shadows, starting with the darkest shade closest to your lashline and fading out as your reach your brow bone to create dimension.

Protruding Eyes
You have protruding eyes if ... You have large, round eyes that stand out, a deep crease and the appearance of projected lids.

Think: Mya

The challenge: Prominent lids can make many eye makeup looks seem overdone.

Your makeup look: Skip eyeliner altogether on the upper lid. "It can be too intense," says Taylor. Instead, use eye shadow to create soft definition. Using an angled brush, keep the line thinner toward the inner eye and thicker as your reach the end of the eye to reduce space on projected lids.

Almond Eyes
You have almond eyes if ... Your eyes are perfectly symmetrical with very slightly upswept outer corners.

Think: Beyoncé

The challenge: This is considered the most versatile shape for any look (hardly a challenge), so focus on increasing the depth and intensity of your looks.

Your makeup look: To make eyes appear larger, tightly line the upper lashline with a dark matte shade only. Skip eyeliner on the lower lashline -- it can make eyes look smaller.

Round Eyes
You have round eyes if ... The width and height of your eyes are nearly the same. Sometimes you can see white underneath your iris.

Think: Christina Ricci

The challenge: Eyes can look shorter and lose some of their width.

Your makeup look: Using a dark shade, line your upper lashline, extending out and up at the outer corner to elongate the width of the eye.
