Celebrity Hairstylists Share Their Favorite Drugstore Frizz-Fighters

Hasta la vista, frizz!
Tracey Moss is a celebrity hairstylist who specializes in TV, film, and Broadway and has been on set for Baywatch, The Hunger Games, and Black Panther. One of her favorite anti-frizz hair products is this leave-in conditioner by Design Essentials. "I consider Design Essential to be a trusted brand, so when new products come out, I want to try them," she tells us. She adds, "The moisture and natural benefits from avocado and almond to your hair is especially great for sew-ins and braids."

This one lands on the higher end of the drugstore pricing spectrum, but it's an inexpensive luxury option compared to the $30 to $50 products out there. "I discovered it when I first started doing color and a client told me how much she loved this product. I started using it after color to help detangle the hair and noticed how smooth it would always make the hair," says Brown. "It helps repair hair, tame frizz, and makes hair shiny. It really is a miracle product."

Lin says he discovered this product while doing an outdoor summer photoshoot in ridiculously high humidity. Talk about a make it work moment.

"I walked into a drugstore to see what kind of options they had, and I found a few. This worked the best. It smells amazing and has great frizz control," he says. "I highly suggest mixing with just a touch of warm water and then apply from the bottom of your hair, moving upwards. Never apply directly from the top. You'll find this product to be very sticky, but it gets the job done!"

A friend with very curly hair introduced Brown to this high-tech, post-shower hair towel by Aquis.

"It cuts down drying time and dries hair more evenly than a cotton towel. It's also lighter in weight, so it doesn't pull your hair which means less breakage, less frizz and all around makes hair easier to style," says Brown. "All you have to do is wrap your hair up in the towel after showering. I like to keep my hair up in the towel while I moisturize and get ready, then take it down and style."

This product was recommended to Lin by one of his longtime clients (ahem, that'd be supermodel Selita Ebanks, NBD). "She's always had a problem with a frizzy hairline and told me, 'Marshall, you're good, but try this.' So I did, and said 'Yup! You're right!' after I used it."

Before using, Lin says to make sure your hair is almost 100 percent dry and to apply a heat protectant. Then, use the tiny iron to finish your frizzy baby hair around your hairline and work to blend it in with the remaining hair afterwards.
