From romantic curls to sexy, tousled waves, the most gorgeous ways to make a stunning first (or 40th) impression

If You Want: A Low-Key Style
Unlike other low-maintenance beauty looks (we're looking at you, no-makeup makeup), this breezy hairstyle actually requires very little effort. "For longer hair, you can simply part the hair with a deep side part and sweep the hair to one side ... secure behind the ear with a bobby pin to help keep everything in place," Montana says.

A Low-Key Style for Short Hair
"For shorter, mid-length hair, I love doing a half-up, half-down style," says Montana. This low-key look is perfect for heading out to dinner or spending the night on the couch watching "The Notebook." Backcomb the hair at the crown of your head for volume, then pull it and fasten with bobby pins. "Pieces falling down are totally OK, they add a little sexy flare," notes Montana.

If You Want: A Sexy Style
"I love the loose-wave hair trend that is sweeping 2015," says Montana. To get the look, wrap hair around a 1 1/4" curling iron -- leaving the ends out -- and slightly twisting as you go. This creates softer waves that should look a little undone. "This is my favorite babe-d out look, and is very sexy," Montana says.

A Sexy Style for Mid-Length Hair
Channel your sexy side with textured waves, a simple braid and Beyonce's "Crazy In Love" remix for the "50 Shades of Grey" soundtrack. Use one of these editor-approved hair powders to get lived-in, gorgeous volume. This look pairs equally well with a smoldering smoky eye or no-makeup makeup.

If You Want: A Mysterious Style
If it isn't exactly your first date, you shouldn't be afraid to try a style that's a tad out of your comfort zone. A tousled updo with a few loose pieces covering your eyes adds an air of mystery to your look, especially when paired with a vampy berry lip (current obsession: the limited edition L'Oréal Paris Infallible Pro Matte Gloss in Rouge Envy).

Hot date? You've probably already planned your outfit, down to your killer, confidence-boosting stilettos and your on-trend box clutch. But a date-night ensemble is about so much more than just the clothes you wear. (Read: Don't leave your hair until the last minute). We'd even argue that your hairstyle is more important than whether you don an LBD or leather leggings -- try picturing ratty gym hair with a sleek, skin-baring jumpsuit and you'll see why. Hair sets the mood for your entire ensemble.

So we're playing matchmaker to help you find your perfect date-night hairstyle. Whether you're going for romantic, sexy, flirty, mysterious, laid-back or glam, we've got the hairstyle inspiration. Bonus: We got tips for both long and short hair from Nelson Chan, celebrity hairstylist and founder of Nelson J Salon in Beverly Hills, and Jesse Montana, stylist at Meche Salon in Beverly Hills. Get ready to stun.
