Even the most creative types fall into a rut every now and then. Christine, 24, is a crafter, painter and all-around bedazzler, whether she's creating unique hair accessories or painting some of the most elaborate, intricate nail art we've ever seen. But when she started a new job -- teaching history for grades 6 - 12 at a Los Angeles private school -- her creative hobbies took a backseat to her busy schedule, along with upkeep on her hairstyle.

"I haven't really done anything with my hair in a while," Christine admitted. "I thought it would be nice to get somebody else's perspective on what to do with my hair. I'm so used to always doing the same thing."

A stylists' dream client, Christine approached the makeover wholeheartedly, willing to put herself in the hands of a team of experts.

"I cut it and colored it years ago, but nothing recently. That's probably why I'm so open about doing it now. Honestly, I'm lazy, so wash and go is my routine of choice."

The stylists at Cristophe Salon in Beverly Hills had a blast working with Christine, who was game for a serious style update. Check out each step of her transformation.

Stylist/colorist Adrina Mekertichian jumped right in, thoroughly shampooing Christine's hair to get her ready for her cut. Mekertichian applied conditioner and let it set for several minutes in Christine's hair before rinsing.

Fearless about losing a few inches, Christine was enthusiastic about getting a new cut that would highlight her features.

"Because Christine's hair is so thick and straight, I used a razor to shape and layer the cut," said Mekertichian. "I also worked in a U-shaped fringe because it's versatile and will work well with her face shape."

After the cut, Mekertichian dried Christine's hair using a round brush to add volume at the roots. She followed the blowout with a flat iron to smooth her hair and allow her new cut to take shape.

"Even though she has a new fringe, Christine can still wear a center part or push it over to one side as she styles it," said Mekertichian."It's a really great cut that can be simple or glammed up with some styling."

Eager to finish her new look, Christine headed over to makeup artist Taylor Babian to get a bold, smoky eye. Babian used dark, deep blue hues over Christine's entire upper eyelid and blended a little underneath her lower lash line. To add some extra drama, Babian opted for full, thick false lashes. Finally, Babian topped the look off with a light pink lip gloss.
