When you're browsing the beauty counter, you're probably just thinking about your face, skin, and how awesome that matte red lip would like with your new LBD. And while there are many different brands, price points, and styles to consider when shopping, it's also important to look at the message behind the brand itself. Beyond the cute packaging and innovative formulas, several brands also donate a percentage of their profits, sales or revenue to causes that give back to the people buying it: women. So, in honor of International Women's Day, look good — and feel even better — by shopping these brands that celebrate, uplift, and support your fellow ladies.

The Body Shop

With every purchase of The Body Shop's shea products — lotion, hand wash, body butter, you name it — you're supporting the Tungteiya Women's Association in northern Ghana. Since 1994, 640 women from 11 villages in Ghana have produced batches of shea butter for The Body Shop. In addition to the money that the company sends to the workers, the brand also pays a premium that funds new schools, community resources, and health centers.
