Do you keep a stash of makeup in your desk drawer for after-work happy hours, dinner dates, stuff like that? Most of us in the Total Beauty and Beauty Riot offices do too.
But, we're always up for a fun makeup challenge, and this is a good one. We gave Rosie from TotalBeauty.com and Kristin from BeautyRiot.com the NP Set Day-to-Night Palette, $29, and only limited access to their usual stash (like foundation, concealer, mascara). Then they had to create a makeup look that would work both at the office and wherever they were heading after work.
A tough task? Potentially. Let's see how they did. First up, Kristin ...

"I'm meeting friends for happy hour tonight, so I started by just touching up my face with NP Set It Takes Two Concealer and Foundation Pot, $35. It's handy to keep at the office since it has foundation, concealer, and highlighter in one little container.
"Then I used the pink blush in the palette on the apples of my cheeks to touch up my color before going out."

"I used the shadows on the right side of the palette (the silvery shades) to create a smoky eye. I started with the cream shade all over my eyelid as a base."
"Then I used the dark gray shade on the outer half of my lid. I blended it into the crease and smudged it out into a subtle wing slightly past my eye toward my temple."
"To complete the smoky eye, I used the charcoal shadow on top of the gray. Again, I smudged it out beyond my eyelid and into the crease of my eye.
"If you're doing a dark smoky eye like this one, it's important to define your eyes with a little liner and help your lashes stand out with mascara, otherwise they can get lost in the shadow. I used Pixi Lash Line Ink, $16, in my lashline, and NP Set Glamorista Mascara, $16, on my lashes."
