Your step-by-step to becoming Beyonce (musical talent not included)

It All Starts Here
Step 1: Prep skin for makeup by moisturizing and applying a primer, like Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, $36, to your face and a primer like Smashbox Photo Finish Eye Primer, $20, to eyes.

Step 2: Apply a medium-to-full coverage foundation, like MAC Mineralize Satinfinish SPF 15 Foundation, $34, to your face, and use a lightweight concealer to hide any dark circles. To keep concealer from creasing, gently swipe a loose powder under your eyes.

Bright Eyes
Step 3: To get the fabulous eyes in this look, we used colors from EM Michelle Phan's The Life Palette, $75, in Party. Using a small eye shadow brush, like Make Up For Ever Professional Eye Shadow Brush #5N, $23, apply a gold shadow over your lid. Use the shadow to line the inner corner of your eye and extend it halfway across your lower lash line. To get even more pigment, dip the brush in water before applying shadow.

Step 4: Take a bronze shadow and apply it to your crease, starting from the inner corner and working outwards. When you get to the outer corner, extend the shadow slightly beyond the crease. Take either a shimmery black or deep brown color and make a sideways "V" shape on the outer corner of your eye, with one leg touching where your upper and lower lash line meet and the other leg touching the middle of your crease. Blend the color halfway onto your lid.

Be So Dramatic
Step 5: Dip a liner brush into a gel liner, like Tarte emphasEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner Pot, $24. Starting from the inner corner, line your top lash line. Extend the liner up and out (to meet with the point of the "v" you created in the last step). Connect the point with the middle of your lash line, and then fill in the triangle shape. Repeat on the other eye.

Beyoncé has been my idol since I could hand a $10 bill to the clerk in exchange for a Destiny's Child single at The Warehouse (look it up, it was soo a thing. Which is why I've been Foxy Cleopatra and Deena from "Dreamgirls" for at least three Halloweens in a row. And I'm not alone on this. She has a tendency to be the inspiration of thousands of viral Halloween re-creations worldwide (Single Ladies dance craze, anyone?). So this year I got together with the Total Beauty team to take the Beyoncé Halloween metamorphosis even further.
