Once your moisturizer has completely absorbed, add primer to create a smooth canvas, which will ultimately help lock your makeup look into place.

She likes the Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer, $34. "It's especially great for any skin type in the winter, because I feel like when it's cold and dry out, even the most oily of us lose the moisture we need to look fresh." For those with especially oily or acne-prone skin, the brand also offers Laura Mercier Oil-Free Foundation Primer, $34.

Let's be honest, your mug is going to be all over Instagram come New Year's Day, so a killer complexion is a must -- and nothing will give you that effortlessly airbrushed look like a good foundation. But how can you keep it from melting while you're totally owning the dance floor during the final hours of 2015?

"A cream formula foundation is going to stay on longer," says Greenberg. Try Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation, $48, for long-lasting full coverage.

"Also the way that you put it on is really important," says Greenberg, who suggests reaching for a brush like Tarte's The Buffer Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush, $34. When you use a brush rather than your fingers, she explains, you really fuse the product with your skin, making for a more natural -- and long-lasting -- finish.

Set the look with translucent powder. It goes on clear, meaning you get all the benefits of a traditional powder without actually looking like you're wearing one. Apply Make Up For Ever's HD Microfinish Powder, $34, over you face, being sure to focus on particularly oily areas, like your T-zone.

Unless you want to welcome 2016 by looking like you spent the better half of 2015 crying off your eye makeup, layer your eye products to really seal them in.

Start by prepping your lids with a primer, like Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, $20. Then add your color.

"If I were doing a smoky eye, I might start with either a primer or a cream eye shadow, then go on top of that with a pigment, and press the pigment into that cream. Then, dust a little bit of eye shadow over that, and [add] another sort of creamy, sparkly product," says Greenburg. "Pressing everything into the eye and then sort of setting it with a different texture will keep your eye makeup in one place," Greenburg explains.

Look for waterproof shadows, liners and mascaras, which have been formulated to stand up to sweat. Greenberg swears by Make Up For Ever's Aqua Cream shadow, $23, and Make Up For Ever's Aqua Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil, $19. "It goes on very creamy, but once it sets, it doesn't move," she says.

Before you even think about adding any color to your pout, make sure your lips are completely exfoliated. Try Fresh Sugar Lip Polish, $22.50, or you can DIY a scrub by mixing honey and sugar granules, Greenburg suggests.

Once your pucker is baby-smooth, you're ready to layer on lip color. "Start with a lip stain, and swipe across a little translucent powder to really lock it in," Greenburg says. Then, fill in lips with liner. Greenberg's pick is the Behr Hug Pencil, $5, the seasonally festive red line she released for her ColourPop Cosmetics collection.

Go over your lined lips with a matte lipstick or a matte lip gloss, both of which tend to stay in place because they are not as oily as other lip products, explains Greenberg. She's a fan of of Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick, $20, which goes on matte.

Finish your look with a few spritzes of the makeup-artist favorite Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray, $30. "It's fantastic for keeping your makeup on for hours," says Greenburg.

You'll also want to stash a few face-saving products in your clutch before you dash out the door. Stila Convertible Color, $25, is handy for both lip and cheek touch-ups, according to Greenburg. Her other go-to: Yves Saint Laurent Beauty Touche Éclat Radiant Touch, $42. "You can slap it on, it looks good in pictures, it wakes you up and it has a really pretty luminosity," says Greenburg.

Finally, tuck away some oil-blotting sheets, like Tatcha Aburatorigami Japanese Blotting Papers, $12, before hailing that Uber. Not only will excess oil cause makeup runoff, but oil patches are also extra-prominent in photos. While you probably want to shine on the final night of the year, we're pretty you don't want it to be thanks to a slick T-zone.
