HD Dos and Don'ts
Now that you've seen the top product picks, follow these tips to get the most out of your HD products from Nicholas Lujan, managing educator at Make Up For Ever:

• At a minimum, invest in an HD Powder -- it works on all skin colors and can be used with any other makeup products.

• Use a brush. Sponges absorb too much product and build too much coverage when you're stippling an HD formula. Foundation or kabuki brushes allow you to buff foundation on without streaking or introducing oils from your fingertips.

• Use less than you think. Remember: the camera magnifies and a flash bounces light.

• Beware of highlighters, glitter and sparkle -- these products are magnified on camera -- in an unflattering way. Foundations with satiny finishes will read as radiant glowing skin on camera without the need for frost.

• Always apply a touch of foundation into the hairline, neck, ears, and any areas that are visible in close-up camera shots for an even look.
