8 Gorgeous Fall Beauty Trends to Try Now

These Fashion Week hair, makeup and nail looks may technically be trends for fall 2016, but there's no reason you shouldn't be knotting your hair and painting stars on your nails right now

Nail Trend: To the Matte
Matte top coat is having a moment. Backstage, it was layered over bare nails, neutral nails and muted tones. And some nail artists even used it selectively on just one or two nails for a very subtle take on the accent nail. Backstage at Narciso Rodriguez, manicurist Deborah Lippmann said, "a matte top coat can take an otherwise chic nude nail and transform it into edgy elegance."

To try the trend, pick up a bottle of Essie Matte About You, JINsoon Matte Maker, Nails Inc Westminster Bridge Matte Effect Top Coat or Deborah Lippmann Flat Top Mattifying Top Coat.

Nail Trend: Simple Shapes
Extremely simple yet pretty nail art -- often on bare or nude nails -- was all over the fall 2016 runways.

At Tracy Reese, Jamberry created custom nail wraps inspired by the collection (they're available now), the coolest of which is called "Urbanite" and features basic black stripes on a clear background.

At Jenny Packham, manicurist Michelle Saunders used Essie Mademoiselle as the base and drew gold stars on the thumb and one other random nail using Essie Good as Gold. "Just a bit of nail art, done elegantly, can be another form of accessorizing," she said.

And at Tibi, Jin Soon Choi was inspired by the military accents in the collection and drew a simple military insignia in a muted gold tone using JINsoon polish in Cachet.
