The Dark Spot Corrector That Obliterates Sun Damage
In my 20s, I worked with an editor who made me promise to always use sunscreen. Though she was only in her 30s, she looked older thanks to years of sun damage and resulting hyperpigmentation. (In her defense, the '70s weren't exactly the Golden Age of SPF.) That's when I understood what dermatologists repeat often: Wrinkles aren't the No. 1 thing that gives away your age. It's uneven skin tone.

I wish I could say I kept my promise, but I didn't. Sunscreen only became a daily must when I hit my 40s and began experiencing the same issues she had: sun spots and freckles spread across my cheeks, forehead and nose.

That's also when I realized just how hard it is to find a dark spot corrector that really works. Enter: RéVive Perfectif Even Skin Tone Serum dark spot corrector, $325. Expensive? Yes. But so worth it.

This lightweight brightening serum sinks into skin and imparts an immediate gorgeous glow. But its real hero quality comes from RéVive's Renewal Epidermal Science (RES) technology, derived from Nobel Prize-winning research. These magically potent ingredients increase cell turnover to promote healthier, more luminous skin. But all you really need to know is this: It began fading my dark spots in less than three weeks. By the time my bottle was empty eight weeks later, my face looked like it belonged to a lifelong sunscreen-wearer.

And now there are two things you'll never catch my skin without: a layer of broad-spectrum sunscreen and this ultra-effective dark spot corrector. --Jill Provost

The $5 Lip Product I Can't Live Without
As a lip product junkie and the owner of a perpetually-dry-AF pout, nothing sends a surge of panic up my spine quite like reaching into my purse or across my nightstand for my favorite hydrating gloss, balm or oil and finding it missing.

So, you can imagine the utter devastation I suffered when I dropped my favorite lip oil -- lid off, head down -- directly into a dust bunny behind my nightstand. Despite being a lifelong germaphobe, I stared at the dirt- and fuzz-flecked applicator and momentarily contemplated the harm of wiping it off and pretending nothing ever happened.

Fortunately, after my fleeting hesitation, I was able to send my treasured lip treatment into that big makeup bag in the sky (the trash) without much regret. That's because even though my beloved Yes to Coconut Cooling Lip Oil feels like a million bucks, it only costs $4.99.

Packed with hydrating ingredients like coconut oil, shea butter and cocoa butter, it soothes and moisturizes my lips even at their driest and flakiest. I like applying it before bed for to give my lips some heavy-duty overnight TLC, and I also routinely wear it out -- it's got the subtle sheen of a lip gloss but none of the stickiness. And of course, it doesn't hurt that this stuff costs a fraction of the price of other lip oils, which means I can stock up -- just in case beauty tragedy strikes again. --Mary Squillace

The Brow Highlighter That Makes My Skin Glow
Even though I love the dewy-skin look, highlighting hasn't been at the top of my makeup to-do list. I'll occasionally dust some on as an afterthought, but, in general, my serum-moisturizer-SPF-BB-cream routine gives me plenty of sheen.

Then, I was introduced to Benefit High Brow Glow, $22, and highlighting became a must. You see, even though this chubby pencil is meant for highlighting brows -- tap some underneath your arches to make them look instantly lifted and defined -- it does so much more. Because it's a pencil instead of a stick, it's small and precise enough to use in the inner corners of the eyes and on the Cupid's bow. The consistency is supercreamy, which is ideal for gliding over cheekbones. Plus, it's one of the most natural highlighting colors I've come across: not-at-all-glittery, minimally iridescent, pearlescent but not too pearlescent. It looks like skin -- but better. And that's exactly what I want from a highlighter, brow or otherwise. I just didn't know it until I found this one. --Dawn Davis

The Tinted Lip Balms I Collect Like Pokemon
I love the way a swipe of lipstick instantly makes me look like I have my ish together. I don't love dealing with touch ups (because faded, flaky lipstick looks decidedly not put together). And that's where my love affair with tinted lip balms was born. The one you can currently find stashed in every handbag I own: Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Stick, $8.49.

It moisturizes my lips like a boss because it's made with shea and mango butters. The formula is creamy, but not so creamy that it gets everywhere when I apply it. In fact, the fat, pointed tip makes it easy to apply anytime, anywhere. (For me, that's typically somewhere between my apartment door and my car as I'm rushing to get to work -- and toting a gym bag, purse and lunch container).

And then there are the colors: Sixteen shades ranging from sheer pink to opaque plum, and I've amassed a color for every occasion (Fresh Papaya for the gym; Wine Berry for date night; Rich Raisin for work). At only $8 each, I don't have to feel guilty for catching 'em all. -- Allie Flinn

The Drugstore Deodorant That Smells Better Than My Favorite Perfume
I don't know if it's because I grew up around my mother's library of a perfume collection or because we had a heavenly scented house, but I absolutely love to smell pretty. When I'm on the hunt for new beauty products, a riveting scent is a priority for me, and contrary to recent activities (like my one-month no-shower experiment), I like to be a walking air freshener.

While I could achieve this with a few spritzes of perfume, I've got a major fragrance hack to share: Most days, my "fresh, sweet scent" is thanks to a couple spritzes of deodorant -- Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant in Soothing Chamomile, $6.99, to be exact.

The chamomile scent is strong enough to create a sweet aroma that lingers as I stroll by, and the antiperspirant keeps me fresh all day -- even through my hard-hitting workouts. I also have zero worries about white residue staining my mostly black wardrobe because the lightweight spray is completely non-transferable and absorbs quickly. The best part? It nourishes my abused underarms (think: shaving and waxing) with skin-hydrating ingredients vitamins E and F, so I have zero irritation throughout the day.

Less than $7 for a scent I love as much as Chanel? Hell to the yes. --Jessica Amaris
