I'd like to think I've developed a healthy skepticism for the supernatural, but Neutrogena's Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes, $6.99, have made me question nearly everything I believe.

One cloth effectively removes even the most clingy waterproof mascaras and makes layers of face makeup disappear before you can say "poof." (Don't believe me? Just ask my colleague, whom I recently watched remove elaborate "Star Wars"-themed makeup in just a few swipes.)

This Holy Grail product is the perfect addition to my multistep, slightly overzealous, leave-no-trace-of-makeup-behind nighttime routine, as well as for lazy evenings when I go from zero to sleepy in under a minute. Other too-good-to-be-true perks include the gentle formula, soft texture and non-oily, hydrating finish. Consider me totally charmed. --Mary Squillace

Perricone MD No Eyeshadow Eyeshadow, $35, is the gateway drug of the eye shadow world. If you asked me about my favorite eye shadow a few months ago, I would have mumbled something about the Urban Decay Naked Palette and changed the subject. I was not into eye shadow. Eyeliner? Sure. Mascara? Definitely. But shadow? It was low on my list of five-minute-makeup priorities. Not anymore.

When I was introduced to No Eyeshadow Eyeshadow everything changed. You see, in recent years I've become concerned about my eyelid skin aging -- sagging, wrinkling, all of it. If you were to look inside any of my purses, you'd find multiple lipsticks lost in the depths. Being in the beauty business, it's safe to say I've tried hundreds of lipsticks. But when it comes to faking that effortless look, my secret weapon has always been eye shadows in oh-so-natural nude shades. In the morning, I sweep a pretty peach shade across my lids as a base and apply a rich, medium brown to my crease to add a bit of dimension. Then, when evening rolls around, I up the drama by building on my existing look. The palette's subtly shimmery bronze and deep chocolate brown are perfect for creating a smoky eye, while the pale beige is ideal for highlighting the inner corners and centers of the lids.

I don't regret anything about going blonde. I was born an uninspired dark brunette and spent my adolescence torturing my hair with cheap box dye -- but now, my professionally executed blond hair makes me feel like the fun, fabulous grownup I always wanted to be. (Most of the time, anyway.)
