For me, searching for the perfect foundation has been like going on a series of blind dates. Some were cheap, some were clingy, others were adequate, but when Urban Decay's Naked Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup, $40, came into my life, I felt like I'd finally met my soul mate.

For the most part, I've been blessed with clear skin that only breaks out when I've slacked on my skin care routine or a night out on the town derails my diet. But even when I'm on my worst behavior, this Naked foundation always has my back -- or face, rather. It has buildable coverage that feels weightless and looks 100 percent natural, which is great because, as much as I love the bakery down the street, I'm not a fan of caked-on makeup. Plus, it's a vegan, paraben-free product, so it keeps my face from any harmful chemicals and makes me feel better about sabotaging my not-so-vegan diet.

I'd like to think I've developed a healthy skepticism for the supernatural, but Neutrogena's Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes, $6.99, have made me question nearly everything I believe.

One cloth effectively removes even the most clingy waterproof mascaras and makes layers of face makeup disappear before you can say "poof." (Don't believe me? Just ask my colleague, whom I recently watched remove elaborate "Star Wars"-themed makeup in just a few swipes.)

This Holy Grail product is the perfect addition to my multistep, slightly overzealous, leave-no-trace-of-makeup-behind nighttime routine, as well as for lazy evenings when I go from zero to sleepy in under a minute. Perricone MD No Eyeshadow Eyeshadow, $35, is the gateway drug of the eye shadow world. If you asked me about my favorite eye shadow a few months ago, I would have mumbled something about the Urban Decay Naked Palette and changed the subject. I was not into eye shadow. Eyeliner? Sure. Mascara? Definitely. But shadow? It was low on my list of five-minute-makeup priorities. Not anymore.

If you were to look inside any of my purses, you'd find multiple lipsticks lost in the depths. Being in the beauty business, it's safe to say I've tried hundreds of lipsticks.
