The At-Home Face Peel That Laughs at Dark Spots
The path to my Sephora VIB Rouge membership has been paved with regrets. This is why I should have known better than to go to Sephora on a day when I was stressed, bored and distracted -- the impulse shopper's perfect storm. Among the many items that landed in my basket while I gossiped on the phone was Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial. At $80 for less than two ounces, this luxury face peel had the makings of a VIB -- very impulsive buy.

But OMG -- this is the most legit beauty product I've bought in months. After one use, this peel did more to lighten the dark spots on my cheeks than weeks of blasting them with retinol and hydroquinone; as a result, I applied my face makeup in half the time. On the skin-smoothing and brightening front, this product is at least as effective as any of the professionally administered facials or face peels I've had. And if one application of Babyfacial beats the results of a $100-plus spa facial, then this product really is a VIB -- very incredible bargain. --Katie McCarthy

The Australian Shampoo That Finally Calmed My Frizz
I have no idea what happened this spring, but I woke up one day and my hair was a frizzy mess. It stayed that way for weeks, regardless of the weather and what products I used. Needless to say, I got pretty frustrated -- I was even considering plunking down a wad of cash for a keratin treatment for my previously manageable hair.

Then, I remembered I had a bottle of Bhave Magnify Volumizing Shampoo, $32.95, tucked into the back of a cabinet in my bathroom, and I figured I'd give it a try -- the name alone gave me hope. It's made with a special keratin extracted from the wool of New Zealand sheep that's designed to repair and soften each hair strand. And it also contains organic aloe, macadamia and evening primrose oils, and no parabens, sulfates, or sodium chloride -- so there's nothing not to love.

Sure enough, after just one use, my hair was silky as a lamb. But because it's a volumizing formula, it also looked thick and full. Now, even on rainy days, if I use this shampoo (and its matching conditioner), the frizz stays away -- no keratin treatment required. -Dawn Davis

The $9 Makeup Brush I Can't Live Without
OK, OK, so technically I you can't "empty" a makeup brush, but that doesn't make this product any less worth of the praise I'm about to heap on it. You see, powder brushes usually fall into two camps: supersoft and ginormous, or somewhat prickly and tapered for precision. However, EcoTools' Full Powder Brush, $8.99, brings the best of both worlds. It's soft and fluffy, but it also has a convenient pointed end, perfect for setting under-eye concealer and navigating the narrow area between my brows. I tend to use it exclusively for applying powder (which I have to do every day, thanks to my oily skin), it could easily double as a bronzer or blush brush.

Then there's the price. Though makeup brushes are one of the beauty goodies I'm willing to splurge on, this one proves there's no need to. This drugstore tool resides on my vanity next to a powder brush literally 10 times its cost, and yet this is the one I reach for. --Mary Squillace

The Radiance-Boosting Foundation That Makes My Husband Do a Double-take
My friends joke that your wedding should be your prettiest day ever. Mine, oddly enough, was the day I gave birth to my son. Sure, my newborn was cute, but my skin never looked so radiant and supple -- and everyone on Facebook agreed.

Though it's tough for makeup to top the beauty benefits of new-mom hormones, Josie Maran Vibrancy Foundation Fluid, $45, comes strikingly close. Infused with argan oil, this foundation is like a magical elixir for dry, sensitive skin. In fact, I might even call it the glow-inducing foundation of my dreams.

When I first pumped out this foundation, I noticed that it's incredibly runny. There was no way this serum-like fluid could possibly cover my redness and sun spots -- and yet it does. It goes on wet, but give it a second to absorb, and I'm left with a beautiful, dewy finish. Every time I wear it, my husband tells me how radiant my skin looks. He even asked if I might be pregnant.

Josie Maran Vibrancy Foundation has major skin-care benefits, too, thanks to a slew of antioxidant-rich ingredients that nourish and soothe dry, irritable skin, wipe out redness and, best of all, make skin otherworldly luminous -- no pregnancy hormones required.

The Blush That Lets Me Customize My Flush
In the words of my grandmother, "You're not really dressed until you put on a little lipstick and blush." I hear this statement in my head every time I leave the house. It's true; blush really does give you a pick-me-up that makes you look healthy and vibrant. While some people have their signature shade of blush, I like my cherubic hue to coordinate with my outfit or my mood.

Enter: Makeup Revolution Blush Palette, in Blush Goddess, $10 -- my new favorite customizable blush palette. For less than two lattes, you get eight shades of blush. The colors tend to be on the warmer side (which I prefer, because they pair phenomenally with my bronzer). The palette contains four blushes with a satin finish and four metallic shades -- all of which can be blended to create your own one-of-a-kind glow. The buildable powder formula allows me to add a tiny pop of color to the apples of my cheeks or fake that I-just-worked-out flush. The shimmery shades are great for adding highlight and dimension to cheekbones, brows, the Cupid's bow -- basically anywhere you want to accentuate.

Thanks to Makeup Revolution, I never have to worry about leaving the house with a ghostly complexion. My grandmother would definitely approve. --Hannah Savin
