Look #flawless for every important event

Major events can be the happiest times of your life while simultaneously being the most stressful. One of those stresses: How you're going to do your hair and makeup. It seems trivial, but your appearance plays a major part in how people perceive you. Plus, if said life event involved lots of photos (hello, graduation and wedding), it's only natural to want to look your best. You likely feel more confident going into life's biggest moments when you know your hair and makeup are on point. Here, we've rounded up our favorite beauty tips for every important life occasion.

For a Job Interview
You never have a second chance to make a first impression. Cliché? Totally. True? Absolutely. It takes about seven seconds for someone to make a snap judgment of you, and they're mostly relying on visual cues.

Present a polished front at your job interview by keeping your makeup light. Think: BB cream, blush, neutral eye shadows, mascara and a swipe of lipstick. Depending on the kind of job you're interviewing for, you have some wiggle room with the color of your lipstick.

For a First Date
Figuring out what makeup to wear on a first date can be tricky. Since first dates are already awkward enough, stick to makeup looks you know you slay. You'll feel more confident, and you won't be worried about that new lipstick getting all over your teeth. As for date-night hair? Easy. Beachy waves or a sleek blowout are always winners.

For Meeting the Parents
Meeting your significant other's parents is nerve-wracking and exciting. One, you want them to like you. Two, it means taking a big step in your relationship. The last thing you want to be worrying about is your eyeliner running. For stay-in-place liner, choose a liquid or gel formula. Even out your skin tone with tinted moisturizer and concealer, and dab on a lip and cheek stain for a healthy glow.

And now is not the time to rely on dry shampoo. Wash and blow-out your hair, and be sure to set your style with a light misting of hairspray.

For Getting Married
If you choose to do your own hair in makeup for your wedding, the most important thing to remember is: Don't do anything too trendy, and stick to makeup looks and hairstyles you've got down pat.
