Ombré has been on its way out for years, but it still held on through most of 2013. If you've been itching for a new hair color trend, here it is: something celebrity hair colorist Beth Minardi calls "lit-from-within" color. "Ombré's done," says Minarid. "With lit-from-within, I take the entire underneath of the hair and make it a much different color from the body of the hair. When you move your head, you see these wisps coming through." She recommends choosing a lighter color for the underneath, and sectioning the hair from the backs of the ears down. Now, get thee to a salon.

Forget broadcasting your favorite designer all over your handbag. The trendiest bags right now are simple totes in classic colors made with seriously high-end materials. Take Masur Gavriel for example: the fashion community is practically arm-wrestling over their beautifully constructed totes and bucket bags.

Dagger nails (often referred to as stiletto nails by people who aren't completely freaked out by them) were made popular by pop stars such as Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Katy Perry. Even though they look like witch talons, they're only truly bad (read: tacky) when covered with 3D nail art.

Long-ish nails, however, are going to be huge for 2014. Just make sure they're almond shaped (never pointy) and topped with tasteful nude polish.

Please step away from the high-heeled basketball shoes. Sure, they're comfortable and give you the extra three inches you've always wanted, but they're just so … well, wrong. Besides, store shelves are practically exploding with an array of cool boots -- most of which are now on sale. Over-the-knee styles, cool-yet-casual motos, comfy booties. We know you'll find a pair you like just as much as your beloved wedge sneaks.

While juice bars continue to take over the world, signing up for a 30-day food-free diet just doesn't seem like a good idea anymore. The Paleo diet, on the other hand, continues to gain devotees. And then there's the Metabolism Miracle Diet, which is close behind. Only time will tell which diet will rise to the top in 2014, but one thing's for sure: it will involve eating food.
